"He said what?" Draco asked as you told him what Blaise said when you found him before potions.
"He said kind of vile if you ask me" you mocked Blaise's voice.
"I will have to talk to him. Because he should know better than to talk to you like that" he shook his head.
"I don't know D, maybe that whole thing was a mistake" you sighed
"I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. I picked him because I was sure he could handle it" he insisted
"Well, figure it out. Because I won't keep my mouth shut next time"
"And I couldn't ask you too, come on let's go in" Draco touched your shoulder softly, leading you into the classroom. You stood between the two of them in class, Draco to your right and Blaise to your left. Today you all dallied away at something you'd been working on for a week just some weird multi antidote Slughorn explained could be used for a number of minor potions.
Of course Harry Potter had finished his potion already, for some reason in a matter of weeks he had become the top in potions class. Even though he had barely been able to make a decent pumpkin juice before, maybe it all had to do with Snape not being the teacher anymore? No... even then this was all too different.
"Professor Slughorn I think I'm done" you lifted your hand as you spoke, seeing as the potion rolled into the deep shade of red he had required.
Slughorn wandered over, you all could tell he was growing impatient with your class since you would be the only other person than Potter to figure out the potion. Even Granger was having issues.
He walked over, looking into the caldron in front of you. He lifted his wand, waving it a few times over the liquid. How he could tell this was right you'd never know. Maybe he was just sick of waiting.
"WONDERFUL WORK YLN" he spoke loudly, causing you to jump a little.
"Thank you professor" you smiled, feeling really good about yourself.
"Go ahead and take some for yourself. It always handy to have around" he handed you a glass vial from his robe. You lightly spooned some of the liquid into the vile, watching as it ran like wine. The smell of its sickly sweetness nearly made your mouth water. "Go ahead and help the other Slytherin students. We need to move on someday soon"
He walked away, leaving you to wander so round the table. You stopped first with Crabbe, taking the pestle from his hand."It's not going to run away Vincent. Be gentle" you laughed, showing him how to round it so ground the spices down.
"Thanks y/n, I'm just getting impatient" he sighed, taking the pestle back and mocking your motions. The spice grinding down now without making a mess like it had.
"And Goyle, you're putting in too much fairy water. That's why it keeps turning green" you smiled at him.
"Oh?" He looked at his book again "oh yeah.. thanks I guess I can't read"
"I got you." You walked again, watching over Blaise's hands for a second. He looked over at you now, gesturing to the table in front of him inviting you to look. You skimmed what he had set up.
"You're actually almost done. Just add the eye of newt" you handed him the small bottle.
"Thank you" he said short, but much kinder than earlier. Clearly whatever had stung him wasn't bothering him anymore. Or maybe he was just too scared to give you that same attitude in front of Draco.
You glanced up at Draco as Blaise worked again on his potion. Before you could walk away from Blaise to help Draco he raised his hand.
"I think I'm done too professor" he said
