"Malfoy..." Crabbe seemed shocked as you walked into the train car. "Y/N..."

"Vincent" you nodded. Every eye turned to you, clearly people hadn't expected you two to return, at least that's what the silence told you.

You sat across the aisle from the 4 of them, Draco tucked into the corner and you on the aisle seat. You were far more ready for all that was coming than he was, pining for conversation not about Harry Potter.

As the train started moving the cart remained silent, like someone was looking for anything to say to you. How the hell were you supposed to break this silence.

"How was your summer Daph?" you asked Daphne as she fiddled with her wand. She let herself look at you, something in her seemed frightened but then calmed as you smiled at her.

"Good" she seemed relieved. "Went to Romania to see my dad"

"That sounds like fun, did you see any Dragons?" You asked, being maybe a little over enthusiastic.

"I did actually"

"You know, the Hebridean Black Dragon is my personal favorite" you lent her a desperate plea for normality.

Some tensions lifted, people started their own conversations. Though you wondered how many were really about you.

"How about you all?" you asked the rest of the group.

"So we're going to ignore what we are all wondering?" Goyle asked, pulling eyes again.

You rolled your own at him. Better sooner than later, hey?

"Ask then, Gregory. If you're so curious" you crossed your arms.

"Were you really there that night?" He didn't seem as scared as everyone else was. You turned to look at Draco, who just shrugged, giving you the leeway you needed.

"Yes" you sighed "We were" People started hushed whisperings then, most of which you assumed had been happening anyway.

"And you saw Snape do him?" He asked again, a strange sense of joy cradled his voice.

"We did" your answers were short.

"So it's true" Crabbe cut in, his eyes gave away concern he was trying to shield. "You're death eaters"

Before you could answer you heard a voice, one that was all too familiar.

"I think it's all lies" Pansy spoke, you hadn't even noticed her sitting a few booths down. "Why would you-know-who chose you?" She scoffed.

"Shut it Parkinson" Draco snapped, breaking his silence.

"I buy Draco," she ignored him completely, staring daggers into your skin "because his family is in on all of this. But not you" the girls she looked back for reassurance avoided her eyes completely. Clearly she was the only one thinking this way.

"You're hilarious" people watched you closely as you replied, some probably expecting much more than words. "You'd think after all these years you'd just get over yourself"

"Y/n" Draco touched your hand.

"That's right Draco, defend her. Like you always do" She was making far too much noise, really her voice was just starting to get under your skin.

"She's pathetic. Just ignore her" Draco rolled his eyes.

"Prove it!" Pansy yelled as Draco insulted her, finally it seemed getting under her skin "If you really are what you say you are. Prove it"

That's when you snapped. "You know this has nothing to do with me. When will you just get over him?" you stood, meeting her in the aisle.

"It has everything to do with you!" She yelled back. "I loved him first!"
