"What time do you have to be home by?" Denki asks me as we step off his porch.

"Just before it's dark."

He looks like he thinks for a second before he says "Come on I wanna show you something on the way."

He takes my hand and leads me behind his house. He opens the gate surrounding his backyard and we walk through a few small trees before we step onto a pavement path. Denki rejoins our hands as we walk along it. He has small soft hands. Their warmth comforting in the brisk Autumn weather. As we get deeper into the woods and farther along the path the trees get taller and the trunks thicker. They arch over the path providing a beautiful cover of their red, orange, and yellow leaves.

"It's beautiful," I say to myself.

Shortly after that we come across a bridge. I'm entranced in the trees around us, so I only noticed that Denki has stopped walking when I feel resistance against my hand. I turn back to look at him and he's already staring at me intensely for what feels like the thousandth time today.

"Denki?"

"Can I tell you something?" He asks as he lets go of my hand and moves towards the railing of the bridge.

"Of course."

He sniffles.

I step closer to him and mirror his position leaning over the railing. It doesn't take a genius to tell something is off. Usually he's loud and in your face, but his eyes are fixed on the water below us and the leaves floating on the surface.

"I've never really liked anyone. I mean I've dated people, most people," he laughs at himself, "but I never really liked them. So right now I'm kind of confused. I've known you for a few hours. And I don't know, it's embarrassing."

I put my hand on top of his.

"It's ok. My life is a series of embarrassments," I smile.

He finally looks up to me and his eyes look a little glossy.

"I really like you, like a lot. And I want to get closer to you Hitoshi."

Denki POV

I finally tell Hitoshi how I feel. It's so weird. I'm so used to feeling nothing but surface level attraction but him... there something about him that makes me genuinely happy. I don't know why yet, but I want to find out. I want to discover what it is he's doing to me.

Hitoshi turns extremely red. His chest starts rising noticeably, but the movements are quick and shallow. I can tell he's about to have another attack.

"Hey, hey, look at me Toshi."

I place my hand on the side of his face.

"Listen to the water," I tell him.

He closes his eyes and seemingly does what I say. I hug him around his middle and run my hand up and down his back.

After a few minutes I ask him, "Are you okay?"

I feel him nod his head.

I go to pull out of the hug he wraps his arms around my neck.

"No," he objects, "please don't let go."

"Ok. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to trigger you."

"No it's okay, I just," I feel him deeply inhale, "Nobody's ever said something like that to me. I didn't know what do."

"You don't have to do anything," I tell him.

He pulls back a little but keeps his arms draped over my shoulders so I keep mine wrapped around his waist.

"But I want to."

His purple eyes glitter in the afternoon light peeking through all of the branches and leaves. I get so lost in them before I know it his lips are on mine. They're softer and more heavenly than I could've ever imagined. My body acts on its own and I pull him closer to me so our bodies are flush together. Our mouths fit perfectly just like two puzzle pieces. The sensation is over all too soon when we both pull away, but the sight that greets me when I open my eyes compensates for it. Hitoshi's lips tinted red from my chapstick and matching the reddened tips of his ears.

"That was..." I try to form words to express to him how amazing it was.

"I'm sorry," Hitoshi says as he tries to turn away.

I stop him by taking his chin in between my thumb and index.

"Perfect. It was perfect."

I stand on my toes to reach his mouth and kiss him again. This time doesn't last as long but it feels just as good.

When I pull back Toshi is looking at me without saying a word.

"What?"

"This can't be real," he mumbles almost to himself.

"It better be," I respond.

I reconnect our hands and start walking on the path again.

"Let's get you home. I'm not trying to be a bad influence... not yet at least."

I turn to him and wink and on cue he turns pink again. He's so cute when he blushes. Good thing for me, it's often.
