Chapter 34

Flashback

April

It's been almost a year since a  stranger came into my life, broke down all the walls that I have made around myself, and overflowed my heart with so much love and care that made me think what did I do to deserve all this?

I woke up the day and lying next to me was the most handsome and perfect man in the entire world.
His chest moved up and down and I stared at his face. He was sleeping so peacefully holding onto me.
The morning sunlight falling in his face.

I

traced along his jawline trying not to wake him up and at that moment I forgot all my fear, all my doubts, all my past traumas, and negative experiences. I just wanted to stop this moment as long as I can.
An involuntary smile spread on my lips.

I was ready to try.

I was so drowned in my thought that I missed the beautiful Hazel eyes staring back at me.

" You like what you see?"

"Huh...no..I- I wasn't...."

He quickly planted a kiss on my lips.

"I am all yours you can stare as much as you want."

I hugged him resting my head on his chest as I closed my eyes listening to his heartbeat.

Finger snap

"Are you even listening to me?"

"Um.. y-yeah."

"Are you cold?"

"Um.. no I-I am fine..."

His eyes said he was not satisfied with my answer.

"Come here."  he wrapped the blanket around us.

"So as I was saying you see that?" he pointed up at the glistening night sky.

" Up there it's Taurus, your star Sign. isn't it beautiful?"

"Yeah it's beautiful "

We laid down on the roof Counting Stars together but my mind was drifted somewhere else.

Anxiety started to Creep in, my heartbeat becomes faster.

"I-I need to um.. tell-tell you something."

He sat up halfway. "what is it?"

I gulped trying to push down my nervousness.

"I-um... Was... um thinking about it and I-I......"

God, why is this so hard to say?

He patiently waited for me to finish.
I took a deep breath.

okay, I can do this.

"Ijustwantedtoaskwillyoumarryme?"

I spit it out in a single breath and covered my face immediately.

Pause. There was no answer.

Did he not heard me?

He slowly moved my hand from my face. My eyes were still shut tight.

"What did you just say?"

I opened one eye biting my lip hard.

"April Adams you better not be kidding me."

I nodded my head sideways.

He sat up excitedly.

"Are you sure you want this? I mean you don't have to rush into anything if you are not ready."
