Dimitri

It has been five days since that incident and I still couldn’t reach her.

She didn’t come to the office, I tried to call her to text her but she didn’t respond to any of those.

I started to get frustrated at this point.

I pulled out my phone and dialed her number again it went straight to voicemail.

I have had enough.

I picked up my jacket and went out of the office.

April

I was munching on the potato chips watching Zootopia when the bell rang.

That’s weird mom is not supposed to be here for like another hour and dad is somewhere with his friends.

Whatever I’ll just ignore it.

I turned the volume a little low so whoever the person is will think no one’s home and leave.

I’m a genius.

The bell rang again and again.

I clenched the bag of chips tightly to my chest and tiptoed towards the door.

I quietly looked through the peephole.

Mr. Martínez.

What is he doing here?

As soon as I saw his face anxiety kicked in.

His jaw clenched and then he looked directly at me.

I quickly bend down my head closing my eyes shut.

Wait… he can’t see me through the peephole, right?

He again pressed the bell.

And then his voice breaks in.

“April I know you are standing behind the door so just stop wasting my time and open the damn door.”

How does he know that?

“Open the door or I’ll break it down.”

What am I supposed to do now?
I bit my lip.

“As you wish then.”

Is he for real?

I quickly opened the door panicking he would actually break it.

As soon as I opened the door I saw him standing there looking handsome as always, stuffing his hands inside his pocket with a smirk on his face.

So he was just bluffing?
Ugh, I am so stupid.

As the realization hit me I turned around and tried to close the door.

He rushed in and stopped the door.

He let out a chuckle.

“Okay okay I’m sorry but I really need to talk to you.”

“Can we talk?”

I stood there thinking should I let him in or not.

“It won’t take much time, please.”

I stood aside from the door and let him in.

His huge frame engulfed the couch as he sat down.

I sat down across him maintaining a safe distance.

“Why didn’t you replied to my text or calls?”

“I-I my phone is not working.”

He let out a sigh. His voice was calm.
