Nick throws her clothes into her suitcase not bothering to pack. All the neighbours can hear is screaming through the walls. She had thought this trip would end with engagement and happiness but instead she's been given the opposite.

The stains of tears from an hour ago have tattooed themselves to her face. Her makeup streaking. She searches through the room finding all her belongings making sure she has gotten everything not intending to come back to this place ever again. Rayn standing on the other side of the bed screaming at her to stop. She had only been back in the UK for 24 hours when Nick had found the truth out about her boyfriend of 5 years.

He had no intention of marriage, or moving out to LA with her (like he had promised when she first took the job which made her move in the first place) the life she had built them was created on a bed of lies, it wasn't that he had didn't want to get married now. It was he didn't want to get married ever, he didn't want kids ever. Which was not what was discussed in previous conversation. But the real nail in the coffin was he had been banging his neighbour for 3 years.

"NICOLETTA STOP FUCKING PACKING" Rayn screams at her. She just scowls at him carrying on packing, she zips up her suitcase and heads for the door. "LETS JUST TALK OK?" He blocks the front door.

"Let me out" she stands patiently with her arms cross. He shakes his head like a spoilt child, tears streaming down his face. She no longer has the ability to cry over him. "Rayn open the door" she waits for him but once again he shakes his head "Open the fucking door" she gets more and more angry with him.

"I won't do it. You can't leave me. I love you too much to let you go" he pleads with her but she knows it's all false.

"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR. I WANT TO LEAVE NOW. OPEN THE THE FUCKING DOOR RAYN" she screams as loud as she can. He freezes. He's never heard her raise her voice like that to him. "You do not love me. You do not care for me. IF you fucking loved me. YOU WOULD NOT OF SHAGGED OUR FUCKING NEIGHBOUR" he freezes "So I say it again open the fucking door" he steps to one side allowing her to finally leave. She fills the boot of the cab up.

"If you leave now we are over" he screams at her, she scoffs.

"We are screaming at each other on the doorstep we are already over. Besides you decided that the first time you lied to me" Nick climbs into her cab wiping away the last year she will ever shed for that man.

As the car pulls up to Heathrow drop off point, Nick thinks to herself how she has no business ever coming back to London. She can finally begin her life in LA. Even though she's been out there for 3 years now, she hasn't truly begin to live a life there. Always waiting for Rayn to join her, it was always excuse after excuse. He was working with artists in London or his collaborator doesn't want to go out just yet or he has no money. For a minute there Nick truly believed he was going to come meet her out here.

"Hey hi, please can a seat on the next flight to LAX. Urm preferably in business or first. I've got a flight in 2 weeks are you able to move it?"she tries her best to smile at the check in assistant. She bounces her passport up and down on the desk, afraid that Rayn may of followed her. Nick hands over the information regarding her future flight.

"Sure not a problem, that has all been moved for you. The next one leaves in 2 hours" the check assistant puts a tag around Nick's case and sends it off to the plane. She smiles politely and moves off to security.

Once passed through she heads straight to the Louis Vuitton store and the Saint Laurent store for a bit of retail therapy. Once her pains has been remedied she heads to her favourite bar in the airport to see her favourite barman, she's got two hours to vent before her flight and she knows Charlie will listen to her.

"Charlie" she calls for him smiling and holding her arms out for a hug.

"Hey boo" Charlie calls back coming round the bar to hug "what are you doing here? I thought your flight wasn't for another 3 weeks"

Nick moves around the bar, taking seat on a stool, two seats from a mysterious blonde man. Charlie lays down a navy blue napkin and places on top a glass of Johnny Walker black.

"Don't get me started" she looks over the top of her glass raising her brows at him before taking a sip "it is all over. Wasted 5 years of my life on that man. All for him to shag our neighbour" Charlie looks gobsmacked as she finishes the scotch. Without saying another word Charlie pours her another glass and hands over a small bowl of popcorn "for three years"

"Nooooo" Charlie speaks in his Edinburgh accent almost dropping the bottle. The guy to her left almost chokes on his drink, she snaps her neck in his direction. She watches as he cleans up the mess made around him with a napkin.

"I'm so sorry but 3 years? You're definitely better off" the stranger speaks, London accent. Nick looks over at Charlie who points to the stranger and then puts his thumbs to say he's good looking. "Sorry I wasn't eavesdropping"

"Charlie get this man a drink" she throws him a half smile as she necks back another glass of scotch. Charlie looks at the stranger sitting across from her.

"Urm I'll get the same" he smiles. Leaning across with his hand out "Tom"

"Nick" she shakes his hand.

"So 3 years?" Tom asks, the both laugh quietly. She nods her head while sipping on the drink "that guy is a dick" she laughs uncontrollably "so heading off for some sun?"

"No heading home" she smiles at him "Been waiting for him to move but there's always an excuse"

"There's always an excuse" he jokes with her.

They speak for ages, things you'd only tell a stranger in a bar with guarantee you'll never see again. They laugh with each other, joke with each other, even flirt a little. If Rayn hadn't just destroyed any trust she would ever have in men, then she would have totally seen Tom again. But he had so she would will with the pleasurable knowledge that she still has the power to make men fall for her. Laughing to herself she checks her watch realising the time, she bids farewell to her friend and Tom before going running off to the gate.

The flight attended kindly shows Nick off to her seat, it is a window seat just like she request. The flight attendant loads of her bag up in the overhead lockers while Nick takes her seat. She settles down with book and headphone. Glad that for 11 hours her phone will be off and no one can contact her, Rayn can't beg for her back and her friends can't tell her how sorry they are. She gets 11 hours of just her. It's getting nearer and nearer to take off and the seat next to her is empty, thinking she hit the jackpot with two seats to herself. Her bubble is burst when someone comes and sits down. She goes to introduce herself when she's who it is.

"Oh hey. It's you" she smiles, Tom smiles back.
