Don't Play

I stared at Dane smoking cigarette.

"Ano?"  he asked nang mapansin niya ang pagtitig ko sa kaniya.

"Wala," I said, shrugging at niyakap ang sarili dahil sa lamig. Why am I with him on this cold night? It's the first week of December right now kaya malamig na rin kapag gabi. I'm at the bar where my best friend and I hang out, but rather than him, I'm with Dane, our mutual friend.

"Ano nga? You look like you have something to tell me," he said. I shook my head, but he's right. May gusto nga akong sabihin, pero hindi ko naman masabi-sabi. 

"Aren't you gonna give me your jacket?" I said irritated about how slow he is. I rolled my eyes at him. Napatawa naman ito sa kasupladahan ko. "Nilalamig na akong gago ka!"

"Sorry. Sorry. Pasensiya na," sabi niya saka hinubad ang jacket. He handed it to me. 

"Next time, kung gusto mong gumamit ng tao 'wag mo akong tawagan. Nanahimik ako sa kwarto eh," sabi ko sa kaniya at inirapan siya. "You have many other friends. Ako yung inaagrabyado mo."

"Nagsusungit ka na naman," sabi nito. "Eh sa ikaw lang naman ang PINAKA mabait at PINAKA matulungin sa lahat ng mga kaibigan ko."

"Whatever, Dane! Ang sabihin mo ako lang ang nauuto mo! Ugh! I should really block you sa messenger para hindi mo na ako mabwiset eh," sabi ko sa kaniya. Umiinit ang ulo ko sa lalaking ito. "What do I get in return for this?"

"Stronger friendship?" he said. 

"The fuck! Do you think that's something I need from you?” I sarcastically said. Inirapan ko siya ulit. Naiinis talaga ako.

"Ba't ang sungit mo ngayon?" tanong niya sa akin. 

"Do I always have to be in good mood?" namimilosopong tanong ko sa kaniya.

"Right! Okay na. Hindi na ako magsasalita. May regla ka yata," sabi niya at itinaas pa ang mga kamay nito na para bang sumusurender na talaga. I sighed. 

"I can't believe I have a friend like you," inis na sabi ko sa kaniya.

"What's that supposed to mean? Ang sakit naman nun!" sabi niya sa akin at madramang inilagay ang kamay sa dibdib nito. Ang OA, ha? I just rolled my eyes at him. Dane is one of my friends that I met in my previous company. He's a few centimeters taller than I am. If in a man's perspective he is short, pero mas mataas siya sa akin so it doesn't matter. He's still tall for me.

"Kailan ka ba magtitino?" inis na tanong ko sa kaniya. 

"Kung hindi ka na takot sa commitment," agad na sabi nito sa akin at ngumisi ng malaki. I glared at him. Tingnan mo 'tong gagong 'to. Kahit kailan talaga loko-loko.

"Wag na 'wag mo akong isasali sa mga kagaguhan mo sa buhay ulit Dane, ha?" sabi ko.

Look, Dane's an asshole. He is, and always will be one. Pinanganak na yata itong gago eh. Honestly, I don't think he's that handsome, but he has sex appeal na hindi naman ka-appeal appeal sa akin. 'Yan siguro ang nagpapabaliw sa mga babae niya rito. Ugh, eww. I'm not even sure what they see in him.

Okay, he's a playboy. He's the worst, but he's a very good friend. If you need someone, darating 'yan. He will help you when you are struggling with anything. Those are the things I like about him, but if he wants to mess up with someone, he really plays them until he doesn't want them anymore. Yes, just like a complete jerk.

His body type is average. Moreno ito. His neck and arms are covered in tattoo. Marami itong piercing sa tenga and he has one on his nose. Yeah, he got that typical bad-guy look that any woman would love to be with. He is the type of man that women love to tame, but they should know that he can never be tamed and that you can never change a man. A man changes for you. Yes, that's what I learned from my male friends. No matter what you say to your boyfriend, if you are not enough or if he does not love you enough, he will always cheat. Sa kapal ba naman ng mukha ng lalaking 'to. I met him in 2018.  Ironically, he tends to fall in love easily. He gets hurt just as easily too. I think he fell in love so hard twice. When someone like him falls in love, it's very intense and obvious. One thing I have observed is that they are truly possessive in the good way, and they would make you their world (the last person that he fell in love with was also my friend but they did not work because ahahaha).
