It was cold outside. Everything was dead. You were surprised it hadn't started snowing yet. You were wearing black ripped jeans, a black t-shirt, and a black jacket.

———

So, here you were walking to school. Alone, in the the cold. Two of your favorite things.

You were deep into your music by the time you got to school. You had a routine that you kept up with. You walked to school listening to music. Walked to you locker. Then went straight to class hoping that you wouldn't get called on.

Compared to what other kids went through you had it pretty good. You didn't like attention. Most forms of it really.

As you were getting your stuff from your locker Steve, Carol, Tommy, and Nancy walk by.

Nancy Wheeler. She was beautiful. She was wonderful. She was breath taking. And you wanted her. Of course it was the eighties so you couldn't just come out. So you sat there dreaming. You sat there alone.

Little did you know you could have been having the time of your life with Robin. The girl that dreamed of being with you. The girl that also sat there alone.

You both could have told each other. But, because of fear neither of you told each other you were gay. Robin never told you she liked you. You were to in 'love' with Nancy.

You both could of had each other but, out of fear, neither of you had each other.

"Steve what if I had told someone when we were kids?" You asked as you and your old friend were back in Hawkins

"I think you and Robin would have found out you both had a lot in common. You would have forgotten about Nancy and moved on. And maybe you and Robin would have dated like she wanted." He said as you guys reached the church

"I could have been there for her. Maybe we wouldn't have drifted apart as friends. Maybe she would still be alive if I had just told her that I understand. But, I couldn't bring myself to do it. To tell her that what, I like girls. That's so stupid." You rambled starting to cry

"Listen, you can't blame this on your self. Neither of you told each other. Robin chose to suffer in silence. Now, if you really wanted to be there for her you are going to walk into this church with me and serve your respects." He said grabbing my hand
