It's the end of season 16, Olivia were talking to Nick who knocked on her door a few seconds ago she didn't let him in " what's up Nick ?" she asked " can we talk ?" "sure " she said stepping out of her apartment " what's wrong ?" she asked " what she didn't know was that Elliot was hiding under the stairs and heard everything.
" I know i wasn't what your old partner was for you " Nick said " No you weren't " she paused " i grew more in my last four years with you then i did in the twelve years i was with him.....You know that relationship...whatever it was.... Didn't allow for anything else but with you, with your support, I have a family " hearing Olivia say that hurt Elliot
"yes you do " Nick said smiling "yeah.., you helped me grow " " I appreciate you saying that " " wow so....whatever happens Nick Amoro friends for life " " friends for life "
They huged it out and that's when Elliots and Olivias eyes met but Elliot quickly took his eyes from hers and started walking down the stairs " Elliot! " Olivia yelled as she pulled away from Nick and ran after him " Elliot wait! " she yelled as he walked out the building she was right behind him. He stoped turned around and looked at her his tears began to roll down his face " whatever it was!? you don't know what it was?! You don't know what I was to you! Is this what I get after twelve years!? who was there when your mother died? Who took care of you when you were sick? who gave you a shoulder to cry on when you needed one? I wasn't there when that Lewis guy tortured you.. I wasn't there when you needed me the most and I hate myself for that cause I would have killed him and you know that " " who left me without so much as a goodbye? Is that what I get after twelve years? .....what are you doing here El?" " I didn't say goodbye to you because..... How do you say goodbye to the woman you love? " Olivia was surprised " love?" " I love you Liv, I always have but back then I was married and couldn't do anything about it, I left Kathy a year ago and it took me a year to build up the courage to come back here, to see you and.... Ask you to marry me " Olivia couldn't believe this " I came here to asked you to marry me " she took a deep breath " El .... If you had asked me four years ago I would had said yes, I loved you since day one you were the love of my life and when you left my whole world fell apart but now , now I have a family, I have I son , am happy Elliot, am finally happy " tears was falling down her chicks " what's he's name? " he asked she ignored his question" who thought I could be happy without you in my life? " it killed him to realize how right she was. She'd been trapped for 12 years, held in a cage he'd helped build around her. He'd though he was protecting her,but only now that someone else had set her free could he see that he'd been holding her back. She finally had all she'd ever wanted, and he wasn't a part of the picture. " I never meant to hurt you when I said those things to Nick " Olivia said softly he nodded slowly, keeping his eyes shut in a fruitless attempt to slow his falling tears " where does that leave me " he asked he wanted to be apart of her life again but maybe now he wasn't the best thing for her, on finally telling her how much he'd always loved her he'd never imagined loving her would mean leaving her behind again " I don't know, but whatever happens semper fi right? " tears welled in her beautiful eyes. Elliot wrapped his arms around her " Semper fi" he whispered he wanted to stay but he knew his promise had left him no choice it was time to be faithful to the woman she was not the girl she used to be. He held her in his arms for only a moment longer before he whispered the phrase he'd spent sixteen years avoiding " goodbye, Olivia " he let go of her and started walking away " Goodbye Elliot " she whispered through her tears " oh and " she said he turn around and looked at her one last time she was opening the door to her building " his name is Noah Elliot Benson " she answered his question
