Chapter 42 | Christmas day

-- Fei POV --
-- 5:30 AM Christmas Morning --

I sat up quietly looking over to see y/n fast asleep. She looked so beautiful in her sleep.. really the only time she's damn calm is in her sleep.

I leaned over and kissed her lips slowly. As she was still sleeping, she came into the kiss as well. I rested my hand on her cheek, rubbing her face with my thumb. I release from the small kiss. I slowly hug her and kiss her neck slightly.

"Merry Christmas, my queen," I whispered into her ear. I looked to see her facial expressions. She had a faint smile.

'She better be having a good dream.'

I lied back down. I took a look at the clock.

5:30 AM.

'What the hell? Why did I wake up so early..'

I slowly got up and exited the room. I peeked into Maiko's room to make sure she was still alive. Otherwise y/n wouldn't be happy. As I see Maiko sleeping cheerfully on her bed with Amelia wide awake on top. She glanced at me, but I was already closing the door.

I went back into the room y/n and I shared. I lied back into bed. Facing her, I hugged her tightly. Some substances began to trickle out of my eyes.

'Tears? I don't cry..' I thought in my mind. I sniffled a little and wiped away the small tears. Y/n slowly opened her eyes, looking straight into mine.

"Are you okay, mi amor (My love)," She asked me. I love her little accent in that other language she speaks.

"It's all right, y/n. Go back to sleep.. we have a lot of things to do later on." I said. I patted her head as I noticed her drift back to sleep. I turned around, my back facing her. I felt arms wrap around me. It felt warm.

-- Y/n POV --

'I had an amazing dream. It was just Feitan and I. No Maiko, no Amelia, no Phinks, no Shalnark.. Nobody else. Just the two of us. I enjoyed it. I only wished it lasted forever. Unfortunately, I can't leave Maiko behind. Even as much as I do not like kids, she's apart of me and I can't lose her.. My first child.'

I slowly woke up, but my body refused to open my eyes. I turned to my side. I felt as if I was drifting again to sleep when..

"MOMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, DADDYYYYYYYY. ITS CHWISTMAS!" Maiko yells, bursting into the room.

It startled the two of us, causing us to sit up quickly.

"M-maiko.. Do you have to do that every damn year," Feitan asks her as he notice me rubbing my head. He pulled me into a hug and kissed my cheek slightly.

"MOMMY. MOMMY. CAN WE OPEN PWESENTS NOWWWW." Maiko said, jumping around. She was holding a stuffed animal that Feitan and I picked out for her a few months ago.

The stuffed animal was a medium sized bunny. It was a light coffee brown fur color. It had a small bow on it. The smile on the stuffed bunny was adorable enough to make me say "aw".. although I'm not nice enough to want to say it.

Maiko isn't like the two of us. She's kind hearted and not dark filled. She always wants to help, even though we tell her to not ask unless if someone asks first.. She saw someone drop a few items.. a stranger, and she offered to help them out. Although, some sort of nen consumes her, I don't know why, that causes her to become a lot more like Feitan. I really want to figure that out before something wrong happens.

Feitan got up and walked over to Maiko.

"Up we go," he said as he lifted her on his shoulders. He walked out of the room. I wrapped a blanket around me and followed them into the living room.

"I'm going to make breakfast first," I said, walking into the kitchen. I opened a cabinet that had some fish. Amelia preferred it cooked, although she still liked it raw. She just enjoys to see me work. I whip her up some cooked fish and placed it on the plate. I began to make Pancakes for Feitan and I, and Waffles for Maiko.

I got 3 clear, glass plates. I put the fresh breakfast on the plates. On the side were some eggs and bacon. I grabbed Feitan some OJ, and Milk for Maiko and I.

"Time to eattt," I groaned out loudly. Maiko rushed to sit down and began to eat. Feitan came around and hugged me from behind.

"Are you okay, you sound sick.. Do you feel well?" Feitan was asking me so many questions.

"Just a headache, but other than that I'm alright," I responded.

"Does mommy not feel okay?" Maiko asked with food in her mouth.

"Don't chew with your mouth open, gross." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Mom doesn't feel well.. I guess we'll have to take a nap and postpone opening up gifts for later," Feitan teased her.

"NOO! I want to open presents now. Mommy, you're okay, right mommy?" Maiko asked constantly.

"I'm fine, Maiko. Daddy's just pulling your leg." I said.

As we finished eating, we all sat on the couch. Maiko was opening up her gifts first, and occasionally handing us gifts for ourselves.

"DID DADDY BUY THIS?" Maiko said opening up a large playhouse. My mouth hung open. I never knew Feitan went to buy this.

"I did," Feitan said.

"Y-you did?" I asked.

"Well.. I stole it." he smirked.

"Good, I didn't want to pay for that shit." I said, relaxing myself again.

Maiko giggled it out a little as she opened her remaining gifts.

Maiko grabbed one small box and handed it to me.

"It says for you from daddy," Maiko said. I know she had the urge to open it, but I took it from her before she did. I opened the box to see a much smaller one. The small box was a beautiful golden color covered box. It looked like it could be sold for billions.

Feitan slowly took the box from my hand...
