Ch.35:Nightmares

I haven't talked to Theo in a while.Were already at the hotel.Theo knew that I wasn't really in the mood to talk to him,so he slept on the couch.Ashton is sleeping in his crib,which is next to my bed.

I just keep staring at ceiling.I can't sleep without Theo,but I'm just upset with him right now.

I know what you're thinking,'Why are you so mad at Theo for trying to protect you?'

That's not what I'm mad about,and I'm not really mad,Im afraid.

Theo grabbed my arm roughly.I was afraid of him,and I still am,so I just want to keep some distance between us.

I never thought I'd be afraid of Theo,but I guess I should've.I don't think he knows that he scared me,he just knows that I'm not in the mood to talk to him.

I hear footsteps coming down the hall.I shut my eyes,pretending to be asleep.

I hear the door open.I hear footsteps walking towards Ashton's crib.

"Hey buddy."

It's just Theo.....

"Why are you up so late?"Theo says.

I can hear Ashton gurgling.

"Are you trying to keep mommy company?"Theo says."She's pretty mad at me right now.I just want to protect her,but she doesn't want me to.I really want to kill your grandpa from mommy's side.He doesn't deserve to live for what he did."

I hear Ashton's crib shifting.

"Good night buddy.Take care of mommy.I love you,"Theo says.

I hear his footsteps heading towards the door.I hear the door close.

I sigh and turn onto my side,facing Ashton's crib.I relax my breathing,and try to sleep.......

"Go to your room Shailene."

"Yes dad."

I start heading upstairs to my room.I close my door and sit on my bed.I start reading a book.

My door bursts open and my dad stumbles in.

"Get up."

"Ok."

I stand up in front of my dad.

He sits down on my bed and looks me up and down.I shudder.

"Take your shirt off."

"What?That's-"

"I said take it off!"

I pull my shirt off.

My dad gets up and takes off my bra.I start getting tears in my eyes.

He puts me over his shoulder and throws me on my bed.He stares down at me with amusement.

"Ahh....I love your body Shailene."

"Dad what-"

He starts kissing my neck.

I try to push him off,but he's stronger.

"Help!Mom!Tanner!Hel-"

My dad covers my mouth,"Shh,it'll be over soon sweetheart."

I start crying.

He touches my breasts and puts his lips on mine.

I start to cry even more.

When he's done,he starts unzipping his pants.

He smirks,"Lets have more fun."

I wake up yelling.

I have tears staining my cheeks,and I'm pretty sure my face is red and blotchy,and my eyes are puffy.

Theo runs into the room.He runs over to me.He gathers me in his arms and kisses my head.I fist his shirt into my hands,sobbing.

He kisses my head,"Its ok Shai,Im here,its ok."

I keep sobbing onto his shirt,"Please don't leave me Theo,please don't leave me."

"I promise I won't,"he says.

I calm down a little,but stay clinging to Theo.

"What happen?"he whispers.

"I had a nightmare about my dad.He-He raped me again,but it was going to get worse,"I explain.

I can hear Theo's heart beating quicker,"He's not going to touch you if I'm here."

I nod,"Theo?"

"Yes Shai?"

I look up at him,"Can you stay with me?"

He smiles down at me,"Of course Shai."

I scoot over to give him some space.He gets in next to me and wraps his arms around me.I snuggle into him.

"Are you still mad at me?"he asks.

I shake my head,"No,not anymore."

"I love you,"he says.

I put my hands on his bare chest,"I love you too Theo."

He kisses my head again,"Go to sleep.Ill make sure you stay safe."

I nod,"Thank you."

"No problem."

I close my eyes and drift off to a peaceful sleep......
