Dreams

Chapter 24

I ran and ran my eyes blurred with tears I didn't know where my body was taking me but I din't  care.  From behind leaves rustled and twigs snapped, trees blew in the wind and the air hit my face making my eyes water but I didn't stop I'd never stop.  

Soon my legs gave way and stumbling towards the ground my hands hit something hard...I looked up and could barely make out where I was through my tear filled eyes.  Standing up I did a full 360 scan and looked down at my watch...it couldn't be it just couldn't it was 6:32pm but that meant I had been running for hours.  

I was at my first house the house where there was laughter and joy.  It looked abandoned so opening the door I peeked inside.  The door creeked as it opened and I stepped inside almost everything was how I remembered it the patterned rug, cream walls, and the big family portrait  that hung on the right wall now dusty and old.  

My heart began to beat wildly in my chest as all the memories began flooding in.  Dropping to my knees I felt what used to be a nice wooden floor now splintered and cracked.  I took the stairs but stopped cold as I heard a voice...It sounded female and like Sharlette.  Not wanting to be careless I grabbed an old baseball bat and continued to where my room was.  Swinging the door wide open with a bat tightly in hand...Sharlette was sitting on my bed.  I was so confused so I took a step back she couldn't of gotten here before me its...well its impossible. 
"Hey Jake."
"How..how did you?"
"You're a dreamer aren't you Jake?"
"That has nothing to do with it."  Now I was beginning to loose it how could she know so much about me not even Scarlet knew. 
"actually it has a lot to do with it, you see when you're a dreamer you can teleport to almost anywhere."
"How?"  
"When you are in someones mind or in their dream you can instantly teleport to where that person is.  It tends to be...quite use full especially when you're worried about someone, like how I was about you."
"how do you know so much about Dreamers?"
"I use the Library in the dreamworld when i'm asleep that way I can learn lots of information without needing to be constantly exhausted.  I can teach you if you want."  She smiled and I turned to look her in the eyes.  
"Why didn't you tell me Sharlette?"
"Because we were having so much fun and I didn't want it to end.  I had fun with you Jake and if you still want to Maybe we can talk more about that date?"  She blushed and turned away but I brushed my hand against her face turning it to meet mine,  slowly I leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.  I pulled back and we smiled then without a trace we vanished...
