Morgana bent her knees to absorb the impact of the landing, stumbling she slumped back against the wall, glancing around she noticed she was within UNIT headquarters, with a shrug she headed towards the laboratory she had been in previously, feeling triumphant as she heard the Brigadier's familiar voice, slipping through the door and glancing around, it hadn't changed overly much apart from more equipment.

"Well quite right too. That's what we're here for, eh, Doctor?" The Brigadier said

"Yes of course." The Doctor agreed

Morgana pouted "what about me? One would think I'd be forgotten!" the two men whipped around to see her, The Doctor lighting up and The Brigadier nodding, smiling slightly

"as if I could forget you my dear" the Doctor said "ah, Dr. Tyler, Miss. Grant this is a companion of mine Miss Elizabeth Hunting she'll be around for a while"

"Hello" they greeted her, and she nodded back

"pleasure, where's Liz gone?" she asked quietly to the Doctor, unsure as to what could have happened

A slightly sad look crossed his face "ran into cyberman and after she decided to move along" but his face cleared up "she's adventuring now" he beamed she nodded spotting that he was still a little upset and cast her eyes over Tyler, a heavy set man in a grey suit and moustache and Jo who was rather petite but had perfectly groomed blond hair and a curious look in her eyes.

"What exactly is this machine for?" Jo turned towards Tyler seeking answers, Morgana glancing between them

"Cosmic Ray Research, Miss Grant." Tyler informed her

"And you still use balloons?" Jo asked in disbelief

Tyler sniffed slightly "That's right. We may not be NASA, but we get the results. Inside that is the most sophisticated Cosmic Ray Monitoring device between here and Cape Kennedy. You see, I was going to get in touch with you people anyway, even before this business." He waved a hand

"Oh? Why was that?" The Brigadier asked

"Can you give me that briefcase, please?" Tyler asked

"sure" Morgana said handing it over and he nodded in thanks

"Well, we've been getting some pretty funny results on these latest tests. Now this is the first one you see. Ah, this is normal." He said handing the Doctor an x-ray picture "Now then, this is why I'm here. Last week's test. Now, look at that." He handed over a second image

"Thank you. Good grief." The Doctor exclaimed; Morgana peered over his shoulder trying to find the discrepancies between the two images

Tyler nodded "Yeah. Nobody knows what to make of it. Well, they've all seen it. Yanks, and the other lot."

"Oh?" the Brigadier hummed

"Now here somewhere, oh yes. Now this is what really put the tin hat on it. From that deep space monitor Houston put up. Just take a look at those readings." He showed a large printout to the Brigadier

"Er, the Doctor's the-"The Brigadier said

"What?" Tyler asked in confusion

The Brigadier blushed "The Doctor's the man you-"

"The Doctor is the brains, we're the brawn" Morgana said before tilting her head "and lackeys"

"Oh, I see." Tyler said before handing it over to the Doctor

"Thank you. Well, it's travelling faster than light." The Doctor said

"Yes. And it can't, can it. I don't know what to make of it. It's come all that way, through millions of star systems. It must have been directed, and it must have been directed at us. Now why?" Tyler asked
