"oh, hello, that's interesting" The Doctor mused

"what is Dearest, is this about your attempt to make the first immortal dinosaur?" Morgana asked from where she was flicking through a book on top of a children's climbing frame that her children were messing around on

"No, sweetheart- but I'm definitely getting closer to figuring that problem out- the boxes, haven't you noticed them?" he asked her

"ah, Dearest...this book is soooo riveting though" She mocked him lightly as she flipped another page, she saw the pout forming

"sweetheart! It's cubes! C'mon" he paused, and his eyes narrowed suspiciously "is this about the chess game?"

She stilled and her form tensed "if you so much as DARE bring up that game of cheating, lying, deceitful- "

"Morgana? Doctor?" Rory called confused and she beamed with a smile, flitting over to him

"Hello, R," she said cheerily "I've missed you"

"I missed you too" he replied pulling her into a hug

"sweetheart it's not my fault that we invented chess" The Doctor tried to persuade her and she glared at him

"you're a vicious, lying cheat" she huffed

"what are you doing here?" Amy asked

"Invasion of the very small cubes. It's new." The Doctor shrugged

"All absolutely identical. Not a single molecule's difference between them. No blemishes, imperfections, individualities." The Doctor mused as he finished scanning the boxes, he had taken

"What if they're bombs? Billions of tiny bombs? Or transport capsules maybe, with a mini robot inside. Or deadly hard drives. Or alien eggs? Or messages needing decoding. Or they're all parts of a bigger whole. Jigsaw puzzles that need fitting together." Brian suggested

"Very thorough, Brian. Very, very thorough. Well done. Stay here. Watch these. Yell if anything happens." The Doctor instructed

"Doctor, is this an alien invasion? Because that's what it feels like." Amy told him

"There couldn't be life-forms in every cube, could there?" Rory asked apprehensively

"I don't know. And I really don't like not knowing." He frowned in annoyance as the group bar Brian headed into the kitchen from the lounge where he had parked the TARDIS

"Right, I need to use your kitchen as a lab. Cook up some cubes. See what happens." The Doctor said

Morgana sighed "I'll pay for your kitchen to be refitted"

"is it going to need refitting?" Amy asked nervously and Morgana just gave her a look

"Right, I'm due at work," Rory said

"good luck" Morgana smiled at him

"What? You've got a job? How do you know he's got a job?" the Doctor questioned

"We text and call, Dearest" Morgana rolled her eyes

"Of course, I've got a job. What do you think we do when we're not with you?" Rory asked him

"I imagined mostly kissing." The Doctor shrugged "it's what me and Morgana do"

"eww" their children chorused

"I'm never gonna kiss anyone!" Mimi declared

"good girl" the Doctor praised "do you want a pony?"
