Chapter 20: For Fuck Sake

I watch as Matteo exits the office.
How dare he leave me with this boy?
He was shifting, clearly uncomfortable with me. I pulled him up with a strong hold on his arm. "Listen here, if you so much look wrong or do some things suspicious I will kill you." The boy shuddered under my voice.
I wouldn't really kill him, I'd tie him up for Aurora. I'm pretty sure my days will be numbered if I kill him, but torture wasn't off the table.
"Understood boy?" He nods his head, reminding me of a bobble head.
"Your words boy!"
"Yes sir!"
Somehow I liked how his eyes held all his emotions. The poor boy would never survive in this world.
"Good, now let's go."

The ride wasn't that long before we stopped at what I assume is his home. It was a modest house, nothing to fancy but still on the high side.
He takes, more like drags me into the house and I had to keep up with his strides.
He didn't say much but he threw me in a room. I could feel the carpet giving me burns. "Don't even think of leaving." he said and locked me up.
Like I would dream of escaping. I'm sure Aurora would somehow hunt me down.

Sleep came difficult as my stomach rumbled for food, but eventually the day's activities rendered me to sleep.

"Wake up boy!" His voice startles me awake. He smriks, clearly enjoying how much he scares me.
"Good, you're up. Get in the shower we leave in five minutes." He walks out and I scramble to where the shower was, across from my room luckily.
As fast as I could I showered and dressed. I followed the path that I came from last night to find him sitting in a chair, smoking.
Not knowing what to say, so I stood there and waited.
He eventually finished smoking and looked at me. He walked up to me, his ruff hands grabbed my chin to make me look at him. He frowns and let go. "Come on boy!"
He walks out and I follow him to the car, confused by his actions.

The drive back to Sir Rossi was silent and threatening.
I wondered what they were going to do to me?

We got to Mr Rossi's house and got out, I was scared out of my mind!
"Let's not keep him waiting, boy!" He walked faster and I had to jog to keep up with him.
He typed in a code and went in, straight to the office where Mr Rossi was already waiting.
Just as we entered, Aurora rushed in.
"In time!" She yelled like she scored a goal or something.
Mr Rossi only shook his head and smiled.
"Vieni qui la mia piccola bolla." He says, I have no clue what he is saying but Aurora went over to him and took a seat on his lap.
"Now, Simon, Aurora has told me about your situation and some of the members of your mafia. So we're making your men an offer." His voice is so intimidating.
"Your men will have the choice to leave the mafia under the protection of my gang, or join my gang with three years probation before officially joining my gang." My eyes, I'm sure, looked like big round plates or something. Mr Arnaldi looked exactly the same when he heard the news.
"Matteo, non puoi fare sul serio!" He yelled at mr Rossi, who looked unaffected by the outburst.
He ignored Mr Arnaldi and looked at me again.
"However you, have a different offer." My brows furrowed.
Aurora smiled at me, "I want you to become my driver."
I was highly puzzled by this.
"I don't understand." Aurora giggled.
"As you saw yesterday, I don't need someone to protect me. However my driving skills is next to none and I need someone who knows what they are doing. You'll be like my errand boy."
I sunk into my chair, I would not be getting out of the mafia.
"Don't be mistaken, Simon. I will be your employer as one would put it. You'll have nothing to do with the mafia if you do not absolutely have to."
I fumbled with my hands, "So, I wouldn't be in the mafia, but at the same time I kind of would be?" She nods, still smiling.
"You don't have to answer now, I'll give you until tomorrow. In the mean time you'll be staying with Luca until then." Mr Rossi says.
"Forza Matteo! Non puoi aspettarti che io fai da babysitter a questo ragazzo."
Clearly Mr Arnaldi wasn't very happy with having to babysit me.
"Solo per un giorno." Mr Rossi said back, Mr Arnaldi frowned and stormed out.
Aurora smiled, "Don't worry, he won't hurt you, but I think you should run after him before he drives away. You are more than welcome to stay here if you miss him, but I'll be keeping Aurora in the bedroom." Mr Rossi said.
The blood drains from my face as I scurried to find Mr Arnaldi.

I find him already starting the car and I hurried and climb into the car a little out of breath.
"Per amore del cazzo." He mutters and angrily drives out the driveway. I hold onto my seat and pray I don't die as a passenger of an angry mafia driver.
