This was written long before Techno's passing, and I will be keeping it up as a memorial. Technoblade never dies. We will miss you, Alex.

{Soulmate AU: the world is black and white until you make eye contact with your soulmate for the first time}
The flower field was serene, the wind lightly blowing the petals of each indivisual flower for miles. There was no building but my small home for thousands of blocks, and no Nether portal in sight, leaving me alone with my dogs: Six, and Quackster; and my cat, Ace. I was lonely, yet I had no want to be around the people of the Dream SMP after what I went through there.
It was during the Manburg festival that I first made eye contact with the piglin hybrid, when Schlatt had called him up to kill Tubbo. I had started to panic, looking to Quackity for help, yet he avoided my eyes, then looking to the man dressed in clothing that looked like it belonged to someone royal; color filled my vision. For a moment I saw shock in his expression, yet it faded quickly as Schlatt beckoned him to execute the teenage boy. Then, Technoblade's rockets knocked me out cold and I woke up a few hours later.
The man covered in gold jewlery plagued my mind for months after that day, even after Quackity and I had joined Pogtopia; even now, sitting in the flower field all alone. The Dandilions scattered throughout reminded me of his golden crown and jewlery, the Poppies reminding me of his eyes and cloak, and the pink Tulips reminding me of his hair. I felt the need to be around him, yet I had forgotten the way home so long ago.
The only home I had ever known was blown up, then my soulmate attacked the people I had loved most with Withers. It was then that I stopped believing it was home, instead finding home with the people I cared for most. I had started to talk to Philza more, as I had learned he was close to Techno, together we visited him often. I started to consider the two more of a home and family than I had ever had, however, I still felt at home around my friends in L'Manburg. Once Tommy had started to live with Techno, I started to visit more, until Quackity brought his butcher army to Techno's house to arrest and execute him. Quackity stopped being my best friend that day, after I refused to choose a side.
It was then that I learned that there is no "choose people, not sides" the hard way. My best friend was killed by my soulmate, and I left. You can't choose people in a constant war with sides, so why be in the war at all. I left the man I loved, my family, and my home. Why did I leave?
Why would I let go of all the funny memories with Quackity, the chaotic shenanigains with Tommy, the pranks with Fundy, the comforting conversations with Philza, and the love-filled moments with Techno? I felt the tears fill my eyes as a looked at the Lily Of The Valley that was planted into the ground just a few inches away from where I sat in the grass.
"So much for 'a return to happiness'..." I mumbled under my breath, the flower's meaning having meant nothing to me anymore.
I heard stepping behind me, which caused me to turn and look behind me. It was much of a surprise to see the pink-haired male covered in golden jewlery.
"Can I sit?" Techno's monotone voice rang through my ears for the first time in what felt like years, I gave him a nod and he sat down in the grass to my right.
"How did you find me?" I asked with a whisper, as if I spoke any louder he would disappear.
"Mysterious Nether portal extremely far away from everything else on the Nether Roof." He explained, and my mouth made an 'O' shape.
"How have you been? What about Tommy and Phil?" I asked, however seeing Techno's demeanor change at my mention of Tommy made me skeptical.
"I've been... Alright. Phil's been doing good, Ranboo actually lives next to us now. Tommy betrayed us, for Tubbo. After that, Phil, Dream, and I destroyed L'Manburg for good. Dream is actually imprisoned now." Techno tried his best to summarize what I missed, but the last thing he said was shocking.
"Really?" I asked, moving my body to face towards the man.
"Yeah, but uh... aren't you upset about L'Manburg? It was your home." Techno didn't look me in the eyes, instead looking at the sun setting behind the horizon.
"No... L'Manburg stopped being my home a long time ago, after Schlatt became president, but I never noticed until it had been blown up." I sighed, missing the land, "Wilbur, before he had died, said that L'Manburg would never be the same, it was no longer what it was created to be, so he destroyed it. He was right." I continued, looking at Techno, who had moved his gaze to look at me from the side.
"Oh- uh... Is here your home?" He asked, I could tell he was starting to feel awkward.
"I tried to tell myself it is, but I know that my home isn't really a place, but a person." I spoke, taking Techno's hand in my own. Techno's head moved to face me, and I continued; "The entire time i've been here, in this flower field all alone, all i've wanted was to run back to you, back home... I just lost the way."
"Do you want to go home?" Techno's question came with a small smirk upon his face.
"Anywhere with you." I laughed it my cheesiness, but screeched when Techno picked me up after shifting into his piglin form.
"LET'S GOOOOO!" Techno sounded happy, and he sprinted away with me in his arms, before realizing that I needed my pets and items. We did go home eventually, but we were all eachother needed.
