A/N: Ugh I'm sorry I forgot to post, and I still have to edit this but I'll do it in the morning.

Thalia

"Um Regulus," I called across my kitchen to him, "This doesn't look right."

My cake batter was a lumpy mess, chunks of flour refusing to incorporate no matter how much I mixed.

"I'm sure it's fine," Regulus smirked, walking over to me to examine the bowl, "Though if you care that much just use magic."

"No," I stuck out my tongue, "I told you I am perfectly capable of baking a cake without magic."

"Alright then," he winked, sticking a finger into the bowl. I swatted his hand away and he gave me a fake pout.

"How would you feel if Kreacher was sticking his fingers in your birthday cake?" I teased.

Regulus's nose scrunched in disgust: "I love him but I can't tell you the last time that elf had a bath."

"Well, I'm sure you're slightly cleaner than a house elf, but I still don't think Kreacher will appreciate you sticking your hands in his cake," I pushed his shoulder.

"Fine," Regulus sighed.

I smirked and grabbed the spoon to continue mixing the batter. After another two minutes, however, I decided that maybe there was a reason we used magic. We put the cake into the oven and sat down in the living room to wait.

My house was small- two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. I used to think it was a good size for one person. But now with someone else in my house at least once a day, I realized how much I had missed the company.

Though it was only two weeks into summer, Regulus and I had a peaceful start to our summer, doing plenty of horcrux research while also spending some much needed time together. He now spent more time at my house than his own (not that I was complaining.)

The two of us talked and lounged around on a couch while we waited for Kreacher's cake to finish. Between the sunlight streaming through the window and the gentle whirring of cars passing by, the house felt utterly peaceful.

When the oven chimed, we returned to the kitchen and iced the cake. To my amazement, Regulus was especially good at the letter piping. After we deemed the dessert satisfactory, Regulus summonsed Kreacher.

"Master Regulus," Kreacher bowed upon arrival, "Miss Thalia," he acknowledged me.

"Happy birthday!" Regulus grinned. It was physically impossible to contain my wide smile at the sight of Regulus presenting a baffled Kreacher with our cake.

"Happy birthday, Kreacher," I added with a smile. The elf stared at the two of us with wide eyes before bursting into tears. It took Regulus five minutes to calm him down, flashing me a pained smile. After Kreacher had settled down, he thanked us repeatedly before indulging in the cake. Even despite the earlier tears, I smiled the entire time.

Regulus and I talked to Kreacher for awhile. Regulus had told me earlier that Kreacher wouldn't accept gifts from either of us, so we spent some time with him instead. Unfortunately, the elf was only able to stay for a half hour before being summoned back to Grimmauld Place by Regulus's father.

"I should probably head out too," Regulus stood up from the kitchen table.

"Really?" I pouted.

"Yeah, I'm sorry," he smirked, walking around the table to kiss the top of my head.

"Fine," I sighed dramatically, "Bye, idiot. I love you."

Regulus smirked and kissed me once more before stepping away to grab his wand from the counter.
