Chapter 60: Ship

*ELI'S POV*

I don't know how I got this lucky but I'm not even going to question it anymore. Despite everything that has happened these past few years, I'm still here and I'm not alone. I always thought I'd be on my own from then on but I was so wrong. I have my aunt and my friends who no matter how much I push away, never even budge an inch. And if you were to tell me then that my no-strings-attached-people-hopping days would come to an end, I would laugh at your face. And if you were to add that it's because I've found the love of my life... I would ask to have whatever substance you just took. Seriously. Even before all of that happened, I was never the romantic type. But boy oh boy. These past few days have seen a cringe fest of affection from me. I'd be embarrassed of myself if I didn't enjoy it as much as I did. But alas, that is not an emotion I feel right now.

"M'lady." I say as I rush to Sam's side and open the car door for her, offering my hand to her with a bow.

"You are such a dork." Sam laughs while taking my hand and stepping out.

"I'm your dork." I grin at her and place a quick kiss on her lips. Well, it was supposed to be quick but Sam pulled me back in and who am I to say no to an early morning make out session?

I lean into her and place my hands on her waist as Sam's wrap around my shoulders. I can taste the minty freshness of her toothpaste mix with mine as I roam my tongue inside her mouth eliciting a groan from her. This makes me hold onto her tighter, with my one hand snaking to her back under her shirt. My fingertips blazing with heat at the contact of her skin. I hear Sam moan softly. So softly it was like a morning alarm clock gently waking you from sleep.

Then our moment got shattered by another alarm clock but more obnoxious.

"Get a room!!!"

I groan out my disappointment and glare at the person who interrupted us. "I feel like you're jealous. Are you jealous? Just tell me and I'll find someone to hook you up with. Ouch--!" I feel a smack to my head. "What was that for?" I look at Sam in disbelief.

"Why would you even know someone to hook up Kate with?" She asks me while crossing her arms.

"Oooh tread carefully, Eli." Kate laughs as she and Jane finally reach us.

"Easy." I say. "Who else do I know is single?" I look at each of them but am met with silence. "Jane of course!" I motion my hand towards Jane. "Plus you two are already best friends so everything else after that is easy."

Apparently they didn't find my idea smart since they all started laughing at me. "Whatever." I mutter as I start heading to the school building. "I've been shipping you two since I found out you've kissed."

"You've been shipping them?" Sam asks in between giggles.

"Yeah, I even have a shipname: Kane."

"Oh my god, that sounds better than my shipname for you guys!" Kate laughs then motions her hands up in the air while saying, "Smeli."

I snort at this. "Smeli? Seriously?"

"Well, there's only so much you can do with Sam and Eli. Right, Jane? Back me up here." Kate looks frantically at Jane who looks back at her thoughtfully.

"Hmm... Sam, Eli. Eli, Sam. Elisam? Eliam? Elam? Samel? Sam... Sam... Sam-e? Saaa...li?---" Jane suddenly gasps. "I got it!" She looks at each of us with a proud smirk. "Elsa."

We all stare at her blankly.

Sam is the first to break the silence. "Maybe we just shouldn't have a shipname at all."

"Yeah." I concur with Sam. "Maybe we should just... let it go."

...

I have never seen such a violent reaction to my joke as I did at that moment. Sam stormed off with her head shaking and feet stomping. Kate was torn between laughing and pulling out her hair in disbelief. While Jane... Well, Jane just stared at me in disappointment.

"I regret my brilliant mind." Jane says as she walks away from me, pulling a still confused Kate with her.

"Well, I regret nothing." I say under my breath as I catch up to my so-called friends.

Also, I'd like to apologize in advance IF I won't be able to update next week. I've got a major thing happening in my life right now and it's taking up a lot of energy. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to update tho. I don't wanna keep y'all waiting too long.
