Amelia had done nothing but cry for weeks now. She had lost her parents the people she had always look at as role models and her best friends. Amelia was barely able to get out of bed. Cedric who also had been upset had been bringing the girl food to the girls room. Amelia hadn't been touching her food very often and only ate little amounts of it. Cedric had been laying with the girl trying to cheer her up for weeks. He realized that the girl was there for him when he was going through a hard time so now it was his turn to be there for her and to help her navigate through this hard time in her life.
She felt guilty like it was her fault that her parents were gone. She was constantly beating herself up that Bellatrix was disguised as Amy and Amelia had let her into her own home. Amelia had expressed this to Cedric who disagreed with her. "You didn't do anything wrong honey" he would keep repeating to her but Amelia couldn't help but feel like he was lying.
Amelia had been finally getting out of her bed these last few couple of days. Cedric had been trying to keep the girls sprits up by taking her to lunch and showing her different things that were in his town that he thought might interest the girl. She always seemed to smile but once it was over she was completely and utterly devastated once again.
When Amelia had gone back to see her parents bodies she had thrown up. She buried them with the Diggory family by her side. She buried them in one of the hills by the Diggory home so she could go and see them any time she'd like to. Amos had led the funeral and did a wonderful job at it. He told the stories about the Maplegrid's that made everyone cry. Cedric held the girl and Marie gave her tissues to help her mascara from leaking down her face.
Amelia was getting better however the holidays were now and Amelia couldn't help but remember everything that her parents use to do with her during the holidays. She and Cedric were currently about to go to the Weasley family for a dinner. Amelia put on a flowy black dress and did her hair nice for the occasion.
She then walked out of the bathroom and held hands with Cedric and gave him a nod. A few seconds of blackness went by and the two were in front of the burrow. Amelia held the cookies that she had bakes for the Weasleys in one hand while Cedric had flowers in the other. Amelia always brought gifts where ever she went to thank the people for their hospitality.
Cedric knocked on the door and Mrs. Weasley opened it up and smiled widely. "Cedric, Amelia welcome!" She said and opened the door so they could come in. Amelia gave the older lady a hug and then walked into the house. Amelia looked and saw Hermione sitting on the couch. Hermione had obviously noticed the girls red puffy eyes and she went over and hugged her. "You holding up okay?" She asked and Amelia sniffled and she felt Cedric's hand on her back. "It feel almost like it gets harder everyday" Amelia said and quickly brushed away the tear that had already slipped.
Mrs. Weasley then came over and hugged the girl. "Thank you so much for inviting us!" Amelia said trying to diffuse the tension in the room. "Of course you two are always welcomed here!" Mrs. Weasley said and pushed the girls hair behind her ear. Amelia then walked farther into the house and Fred and George Weasley were there testing out new joke toys for their shop. Amelia passed them and into the living room where Harry, Ron, and Ginny sat.
Ginny sat up and hugged the girl. "Amelia I'm so sorry I heard what happened" Ginny said and Amelia told her "thank you Ginny that means a lot!" Ginny then sat down. Amelia walked over to a chair that Cedric pulled out for her and then sat in it. "How's school?" Amelia asked and the three shrugged.
"It's alright a bit boring" Ron said after nobody answered. Amelia felt like everybody was walking on egg shells around her and she felt uncomfortable. Harry then got up and walked outside of the house. Amelia took one of the cakes that was on the table that Ginny had brought earlier and bit into it. The cake exploded in her mouth catching her off guard.
Cedric then reached over and grabbed one. She threw it into his mouth and it exploded instead of staying in his mouth the cake came out of his mouth and down his shirt causing Amelia to burst out laughing. "Damn!" Cedric said looking down at his now stained shirt.
"Let me help you clean up messy" Amelia said and the two walked to the kitchen and Amelia cleaned his shirt. "You doing alright?" Cedric asked looking the girl straight in the eyes. "This whole incident made my night a little better" Amelia said smiling. Cedric then reciprocated the smile.
Amelia, Cedric, Tonks, Lupin, and the rest of the Weasleys all are the dinner that Molly Weasley had prepared for them. Amelia choked down the flaming pudding. The end of dinner came and Amelia sat back holding her stomach feeling a wave of nausea come across her from the amount of food she consumed.
"You ready to go?" Lupin asked Tonks who got up. Amelia and Cedric looked up also agreeing that it was time for them to go. "We are gonna head out as well" Cedric said and Amelia and Cedric hugged each person in the room. Cedric, Harry and Ron had all talked for a bit longer then expected about the professional quidditch leagues and what was going on in them. This didn't bother Amelia though because she had girl talk with Hermione and Ginny. They all three whispered to one another about Harry and Ginny and a little bit about Ron.
"You ready honey?" Cedric asked over Amelia's shoulder. "Yeah let's go!" Amelia said and hugged the girls once again. The couple walked out with Lupin and Tonks. When Amelia was hugging Molly though a large flaming ball of fire popped up and surrounded the house.
Amelia met the eyes of the killer Bellatrix Lestrange. Her laugh echoed throughout the night and Amelia quickly took out her wand. She along with Lupin, Cedric, and Tonks all ran towards the women. She quickly ran off into the ponds of the burrow though leaving the large fiery ring.
Tonks and Amelia tried controlling the fire which was twisting and turning. Amelia finally got a opening in it but then Harry Potter rushed through and chased after Bellatrix. Tonks finally got a opening but Ginny Weasley also began to chase after the boy.
Amelia then began to get control and quickly lifted the pond water that surrounds the burrow and dumped a large wave of it on to the flaming fire. It immediately all went out and then the four Wizards chased after Bellatrix.
"Millie stay close!" Cedric yelled but he quickly disappeared and Amelia didn't know where he went as soon as they hit the stalks that was all around her. She ran through them and then heard a noise. A twig snapped and she quickly raised her wand.
A large man appeared and there Fenir Greyback stood wand in hand. "Your mother and fathers blood tasted delicious.." he said and Amelia felt anger course through her veins. She quickly sent a curse towards him and he blocked it. He sent a curse towards her and she blocked it. Then he quickly retreated and that's when Amelia heard her name being called. She quickly ran towards it and then let out a squeak when she hit someone.
"You alright?" Cedric asked checking the girl for any injuries. "I'm fine." Amelia said and then the two heard a duel about a hundred feet away from them. They both quickly sprinted in the directions of the noise. Amelia and Cedric then joined Lupin and Tonks along with Harry and Ginny as they blocked spells that were sent to them.
Then everything went silent and Amelia heard a whoosh and the two death eaters quickly flew and traveled back to the burrow and all of a sudden bright flames burst from the house. All of the Wizards ran towards the house.
Amelia quickly shot water out of her wand. She would have used the ponds surrounding her but the water was drained from her taking out the first fire. The fire wasn't disappearing though. Cedric quickly grabbed her and pushed her back from the flames.
