Everest's POV

"Can I take you out?" Beck's voice asked, spinning around I saw him in front of me, he stepped closer leaving a few inches of space between us.

"Again?" I asked confused, he smiled.

"The first was to let you get comfortable with me so I don't classify it as a date but now you know me and I want you to accept on your own this time"

"I don't get it, there are so many girls who would want to go out with you from what I see and hear, so why me?".

"Because I like you" I froze at his confession "I get it that no one's ever told you that but I want to take you on dates so that you can get to like me" he placed his hand on my locker behind my head "Then I can ask you to be my girlfriend".

"You don't know me, what could you possibly like?".

"I like that even though you wear monochrome, you like other colors as well, I like that your eyes twinkle in any light, I like that you are strong, independent and aggressive when you want to be" I rolled my eyes as I remember the incident when a guy was talking, which Jade later told me was flirting, with me and tried to grab my wrist when I went to leave, he got acquainted with the ground really quickly "But also can be soft, sweet and sometimes vulnerable" Beck continued "I like that when you smile even the faintest you show that little dimple in your left cheek" that had been a discovery when Beck showed me a picture he took of me smiling unknowingly when I was watching Jade perform in Sikowitz class "I like your creativity in everything you do, there are a lot that I like about you but the main one is that I like you because you are true to yourself and you don't change for people" I stared at him in shock "I'll take it easy Everest, I'll go at your pace because it'll be worth it in the end".

"It won't be easy" I found myself saying "I'm Apathetic, I have minor depression" I ranted and he smile cupping my face.

"I know but I still like you, anxiety, depression and all" he then kissed my forehead "So about that date?".

"Okay," he grinned.

"Shall we?" he held out his hand and I looked at it, finally I slid mine into his.

Beck drove with me looking out the window, he wouldn't tell me where we were going but told me it was a surprise so I didn't push the question, I watched the scenery go by and then realized we were slowing down. Turning, I faced the place he parked in front of, it was a shopping mall, I rose a brow at him and he laughed at my expression. I followed him and went to the back of the mall where a couple of stores were but you wouldn't know unless you were looking for them, beside one store was a glowing neon entrance.

"An Arcade?" I questioned from behind him, and he nodded.

"It's cooler on the inside," Beck said and led me to the entrance when we entered I was amazed, more neon lights decorated the entire room gave off a violet hue, and was the only light source other than the machines "You like it?".

"It's very retro, I've never been to an Arcade before," I told him.

"This place was like my home from home, I would come here every day" he showed me a few of his favorite games that we played along with some others. We played a game together and won a pink bunny plushie.

Beck's POV

We walked around with me explaining the other games to her, what they were and how they were operated.

"About the Salsa competition" she looked at me when I spoke, "What do you think?".

"I have been researching about the competition and the schools who apply, they have credentials and the skills so why would you want to apply for it?" she asked me "Those people must have practiced for months and really want this opportunity but we would just enter because our teacher wants us to?".

"I never really thought about it like that" she rose her brow "I was just thinking it would be a good way for you to get comfortable with me while I get to hold you close if on the chance that we happen to win then that would be a plus" I smiled at her. We continued talking and I saw her staring at the slide, I led her over to it.

"Do you want to go down by yourself or together?" I watched her as she bit her nude painted lips

"Do you want to go down by yourself or together?" I watched her as she bit her nude painted lips.

"Let's go together" I smiled at her then wrapped my flannel around her waist, on the slide she sat between my legs and I wrapped my arms around her. We slid off, going down the twists and turns, I heard Everest scream and held her closer to my body then after a minute I heard her giggles. We came to the end of the ride and I saw the brightest smile I have ever seen on her face.

"Do you want to go again?" she nodded in agreement "Go on, try it by yourself, I'll wait here for you" she handed me the plushie then went up the stairs and I saw her enter the slide, soon she appeared in front of me "You want to get some food?".

"Yeah" we left and went to a diner I frequent, after we ate it was time to go, I parked in front of her house and faced her

"This is just one of the many dates to come" I smiled at her and I faintly saw her give one back.

"Goodnight Beck".

"Good night Eve" I responded, she exit my car and enters her house "Slow and steady Beck," I told myself and I drove home.
