Madison

I watched as Gi and my dad walked back into the house, laughing loudly as my mom and I finished up with our conversation as well. I looked at Gi, admiring everything about him as his pants hung low on his lanky body and his head Damn near touched the ceiling.

He's so fine. I couldn't help but to think.

And it was as if he was reading my mind because he smirked, looking at me as he bent down and placed a soft kiss onto my lips.

"You look so pretty, mamí."

"Ready to go?" He asked and I nodded shyly as my mom and dad watched us in awe.

"This nigga want me to fuck him up." My dad butted in, making us all laugh.

"Shush, Anthony."

"Let those babies sore free." My mom encouraged as I stood to my feet and Gi grabbed my hand in his.

"See y'all later." I waved to them.

"Okay, hope the two of you find something today."

"Good luck." My mom spoke as my dad did the same.

"And Gi, remember what I told you." He spoke sternly and Gi nodded as we left out of the front door.

-

Moments later

"Put yo' seatbelt on, ma." Gi spoke as I got into his car and I did as told.

"What did he say to you?" I couldn't help but to ask and he cut his eye at me before quickly glancing over, taking his eyes off the road.

"Yo' nosy ass.." He trailed off and I looked at him with challenging eyes while I smiled. He chuckled as I did but he still didn't tell me what the conversation was about.

"Grown man, business. That's all yo' little ass need to know." He ended up saying and I put my eyes to the sky.

"Whatever, annoying." I joked to him as I sat calmly in my seat.

As I did, we grabbed each other's hand simultaneously and I held onto his right while he drove with his left.

We were now on our way to see the first apartment for today and I'd made sure to keep my mother's words in the back of my mind. Today I was going to be open minded and be considerate of Gio's feelings.

Even if it was an apartment that I completely despised.

I'd even found some apartments on my own like I said I would so I had a lot hope for the day. We were most likely going to finally be choosing a place.

-
An hour later

"I don't like them, Giovanni. None of them so stop trying to force me." I tried hard not to whine but I didn't like any of the places the realtor was showing us and he was trying to force it on me, telling me we could make any changes that I wanted but I didn't want that.

And I could tell he was getting frustrated again with me but he was holding it all in.

"Okay, how about we go and look at these?" The realtor suggested, showing me other apartments in this same complex but I rolled my eyes, knowing I wouldn't like any here.

"Nah, it's cool." Gi butted in, grabbing my hand.

"She don't like them then that's it."

"Ain't no need to look at something she don't want."

"Let's just move on to the next ones further out." He spoke up for me and the realtor nodded in understanding but I could tell she was getting upset with me too.

They both were.

"Aw. Are you sure, Madison?" She asked.

"I know they aren't the best but you could always make changes." She went on trying to convince me like Gi did but it was no use. I just simply shook my head.

I already knew I wouldn't like any of them, no matter the changes.

"Alright. Well let's move on to the others."

"I'll lead the way."

"Just follow me onto the turnpike to the next location."  She expressed as Gi and I nodded, walking back to his car and I could hear him scoffing while mumbling things under his breath.

When we got in, we sat in silence and I tried my hardest to stop being the spoiled brat that I knew I was acting like right now but these places just didn't feel like home.

I just wanted it to feel like home.

"Mamí, look." Gi started, turning his attention to me and I braced myself, trying not to break while I sat there in my feelings.

"Look at me." He told me, making me look him into his eyes.

"Whatchu bout' to cry for?" He asked, completely thrown off as I bit my bottom lip to keep my tears from falling.

"Baby-" He started but stopped, sighing heavily.

"You ain't got to cry."

"This is all about you." He expressed, grabbing my hands.

"You hear me?"

"You listenin' to your man?" He asked and I nodded slowly as a lone tear fell from my eyes and I quickly wiped it away.

"All of this is for you."

"If not, I would've settled already and called it a day but I got you, so I want you to be happy."

"I want you to pick the place of yo' dreams, babygirl."

"Because it don't matter where we at for me, as long as I'm with you, as long as I got you by my side that's all that matters." He went on expressing and I looked at him with sad eyes, seeing as how much he loved me.

And I wanted him to know that I loved him just as much. No matter what.

"I love you so much, Gi." I expressed to him, making him smile. The smile I always loved to see.

"And I'm sorry I'm being a brat and really picky but when I'm looking at places, I'm envisioning you and me coming home to it.."

"..us having our babies here." I trailed off and he nodded understandingly.

"And I know that, mamí. That's why it ain't no thing."

"I'm just a nigga, I don't give a fuck bout' no colors and all that other shit. All I want is a clean space."

"This is bout' you, baby."

"Get whatever you want, I want you to have whatever it is you want."  He told me as we both smiled before looking ahead, seeing the realtor pull away. He then started his car and did the exact same, following after her.

"Now stop all that cryin', your man got you."
