08 | First Let Us Prepare For The Engagement!

After their encounter in the hospital, Keerthi and Ashwin were so busy with work. On the other hand, the elders planned to surprise the couple with the engagement day! They knew that the kids wouldn't keep their hands to themselves if they took longer to fix the date. Both their parents met at the temple and finalized the date with the priest.

When Keerthi was leaving the company she received a call from Ashwin. He told her that he will pick her up as their parents want them to come to her house together. Keerthi was relieved as she didn't want to go home in the cab as her car has gone for service.

At 5 pm Keerthi was waiting outside of her office when she noticed the familiar car stopping in front of her. She smiled and got in. Ashwin immediately greeted her with a bear hug and whispered in her ears, " You look lovely and I missed you so much" and kissed her near her earlobe. This sent shivers down Keerthi's spine and she also felt butterflies. Ashwin was satisfied with seeing the effect he has on her. The way she reacted and her blush made Ashwin happy.

They reached her home and walked inside hand in hand. They were shocked to see all of their family members waiting for them. All of them stared at their joint hands. Keerthi felt embarrassed and pulled her hand out. The elders smiled inwardly and came straight to the point.

Keerthi's Dad: Okay children, we all know that you both cannot keep your hands to yourself now.

Hearing this Ashwin and Keerthi blushed hard and looked down.

Keerthi's Mom: It is okay children but we want to make you official now. We have decided on the engagement date.

Ashwin's Dad: And it is in two weeks. This is the latest we could get and if we miss this then the next available date is after 6 months...

Ashwin: Oh no dad two weeks is okay I can't......

Ashwin then realized that he had blurted this out so soon. All the elders gave him a cheeky smile and Keerthi was utterly shocked.

Ashwin's mom: Yes we know so we decided and confirmed the day which is after two weeks. That is we have only 14 days to do all the work.

Ashwin and Keerthi were elated. They couldn't hold on to their excitement. The parents went to the office room to discuss the preparations. Ashwin hugged Keerthi and kissed her forehead. Keerthi hugged him back and kissed his cheeks. This was a surprise to Ashwin.

Ashwin: I like this bold side of you too babe.

Keerthi blushed and ran off to be with her parents. The elders were busy with deciding on the venue, dress, and especially the rings. Ashwin came in and said that we can have a simple ceremony in the back garden with a minimal number of people and that we could invite more people for the wedding. All agreed and Ashwin also said that both he and Keerthi will visit the jewelers to choose the ring for each other. 

Everything was settled and Ashwin ordered pizza for a celebration. When they were sitting and enjoying the pizzas, Ashwin held Keerthi's hand under the table and started to draw circles. This created havoc and Keerthi coughed so hard.

Ashwin: Are you okay? Here have some water...

Keerthi looked at him in disbelief but composed herself. Ashwin was unaffected by this and held her hand even tightly. After what felt like years Ashwin left her hand and now held her left thigh. Her eyes widened and she couldn't concentrate on eating the food. She somehow made an excuse and left the place saying that she was full. In the kitchen, she held her hand over her heart and blushed hard. As time goes by she cannot understand what is happening to her. Ashwin was making it hard to control herself. He was changing her. Keerthi was feeling like a teenage girl again. As she was deep in thought Ashwin came and hugged her from behind and kissed her neck.

Ashwin: What are you thinking babe?

Keerthi: no.. nothing

Ashwin: Don't lie Keerthi. I am sorry if I was out of control. I don't know what happened to me.. It...

Keerthi just turned around and slammed her lips on his. She loved Ashwin and there was not an issue in him touching her. He is going to be her husband. She showed all her love in that kiss and conveyed her message to him. Ashwin broke the kiss and saw a blushing Keerthi. He was loving this new side of her. He wanted her life partner to be both aggressive and soft as well and Keerthi was a total package. Keerthi quickly turned,

Keerthi: Ashwin please don't apologize. You have done nothing wrong. I just reacted that way because I was in shock. You have all the rights to me and my body. Everything is yours. Only yours.

She was staring at him and he just hugged her,

Ashwin: Thank you, babe, I love you so much and yes even my body and soul are yours. Don't worry.

Ashwin then nuzzled his face in her neck and held her there. They parted ways when they heard Ashwin's dad fake coughed. He gave them the 'I knew what had happened' look and went away with a glass of water.

Ashwin: Don't worry babe my dad is cool about it. He is also a hopeless romantic with my mum. Also, listen, can we go to get the rings day after tomorrow on Saturday. Are you okay with that?

Keerthi: Yes it is okay with me.

Ashwin: Great I will pick you up by 11 am then, be ready.

Keerthi: Sure

Ashwin: Okay let's go. They will suspect us now.

Both entered the hall and started to chit-chat. After about an hour they were ready to leave. Ashwin came close to her and hugged her. He then whispered that he was happy that I initiated the great kiss. Keerthi blushed a red tomato, he kissed her cheeks and ran to the car. All waved bye and went away.

Keerthi felt good today. She made herself clear with him and also cannot wait to do the shopping with him. Keerthi's parents were so happy seeing their daughter like this. They wished her goodnight and went to sleep.
