68 | Can We Do That?

It was nearly three months after the traumatic event and the couple was handling the situation well. Although it is still a struggle to get through a day, they help each other with everything. Keerthi started going back to work and Ashwin is also busy with some surgeries. Aarthi on the other hand is enjoying the attention she is getting around her. Keerthi has now become a stronger woman. She did not want to think about the incident at all. She needs to move forward and look ahead for all of their future.

It was Friday and Ashwin was busy with a small girl who was having a tumor growing in her brain. He needed to remove it soon or else she would be in danger. The small girl was only 4 years old and he needed to check on some family medical history when he got to know that she was adopted. The parents have been trying to have a child for a long time but nothing was working out. Hence they decided to adopt the little one from one of the adoption centers in their city. So they did not have any idea about family history. Ashwin always thought adoption was a good option. You are basically giving a new life to a child neglected by their own parents. Ashwin thought of talking about this to Keerthi. He knew how they wanted to have another child to complete their family and now Keerthi's only best option was this. He was sure that she will come to terms with this new idea.

Ashwin successfully finished the surgery and removed the tumor. Now he needed to keep a close eye to see whether the tumor grows back. The girl's parents were relieved and they thanked him immensely. After a tiring day, Ashwin went home to a playing Aarthi. Whatever the stress would be Aarthi was his cure. She can only help him out with strenuous time. She ran and hugged him and started to drag him to her playroom to show him her new toys.

Keerthi on the other hand had lunch with Saranya. Saranya knew that she needed time but also was happy to see her handling it well. Both enjoyed their lunch and Keerthi was glad that they had time to do it. She needed her best friend and Saranya was always there no matter what. She was so grateful for her friendship. Keerthi finished her work and went home to see HIM and Aarthi playing. Ashwin turns into a small child when playing with her always. Keerthi loved to see them both happy and she too joined in with their little game.

After their little game session, we all sat together and had a great dinner. Keerthi then put Aarthi to sleep and went to their room to see him deep in thoughts whilst sitting on the bed.

Keerthi: Hey, what are you thinking?

Ashwin: Come and sit with me. I need to tell you something.

Keerthi: okay....

Ashwin: I was thinking of adopting a child?

Keerthi: What?

Ashwin: Ya I cannot risk your life again and we love to have another kid so we can adopt one right?

Keerthi: We can do that?

Ashwin: Yes we can, do you want me to find out about it?

Keerthi: Oh my god yes, yes

Ashwin: really?

Keerthi: Yes we can have another child! But...

Ashwin: What is it babe?

Keerthi: Will everyone agree with this decision?

Ashwin: Oh you do not have to worry about it. I will talk to everyone and see. So you are happy?

Keerthi: Of course, that will be great. I am going to have another child.

She placed a passionate kiss on his lips and both slept in each other's embrace. This was one of the best decisions Ashwin has taken.

Adoption is still taboo in many parts of the world. It is a great thing. You can have a child and that child can have a happy future. But now many are trying to adopt children which is a good thing. You need to do some good deeds in your life and adoption is indeed an option.
