56 | First Time in Barcelona!

It was few months after the incident related to Akshara. Ashwin and Keerthi's life was bliss. Aarthi was growing up soon too. She was eating solid food and walking around the house always. Hence someone was always behind her. Aarthi was now very active and her first birthday is coming up soon too. Ashwin was even thinking of appointing a babysitter to look after her. Keerthi was against it but they were reconsidering it as their parents are also getting older now.

It was Sunday and the whole family decided to go out for dinner at a restaurant. They wanted to spend some time together as they haven't done that for a long time. Ashwin and their family got ready and left for the destination. When they reached the restaurant, Keerthi spotted her parents. She ran to them and hugged the life out of them. After that, all settled down and was busy playing with Aarthi. The small one as usual got all the attention from the other guests present there. All placed their orders and waited for them to arrive. They laughed and chatted along with each other.

After a wonderful dinner, they were ready to leave. Keerthi had a surprise for him today. She wanted to take the initiative to plan something special for HIM. They reached home and he went to the room. Keerthi followed him behind as Aarthi slept in the car and will be sleeping with her grandparents tonight.

As soon as she reached the room, she hugged him from behind. Ashwin was shocked but was happy to see the initiative. She placed a soft kiss behind his neck and felt him stiffen at her touch. She loved this effect on him. He quickly turned her around and gave her an amused look.

Ashwin: My wife is being so romantic today! What's the matter?

Keerthi: Nothing just, I am so grateful for you.

She then kissed his lips with so much affection. He reciprocated it with the same passion. Keerthi pulled away and got an envelope from the side table. She gave it to him and told him to look at it soon. Ashwin chuckled at her antics and opened it. His eyes widen in realization. It was two plane tickets to Barcelona for four days.

Ashwin: Babe what is this?

Keerthi: We are going to Barcelona in two days!

Ashwin: But Aarthi?

Keerthi: I know you will be worried about her,  I arranged everything. My parents also will come and stay here and Shreya will be here too so don't worry. For your work, I have already got permission from your senior. You haven't used up your annual leave yet so now it will be gone!

Ashwin: So you have planned out everything?! OMG! I am so happy finally I will get you to myself only.

Both chuckled and were excited about the trip. Ashwin was actually shell-shocked to see the planning that has gone into this trip. He was looking forward to the short vacation. That night both slept together with wide grins on their faces. The rest of the family was happy to see their children enjoying their married life. They were scared of how the couple was going to manage the family and work, but everyone is still in shock to see them handling their responsibilities like pros. 

The family was united to look after Aarthi until the couple came back from their mini-vacation. They were happy to spend their time with their only granddaughter. This was their time to make Aarthi also learn so many things. It is that at this age children grasp so many things in their brain. The elders tell her stories every night and that is one of the things the princess loves.
