Speeding up to Klaus ended up being a bitch and a half. Eventually I lost sight of him as we both entered the French Quarter. Damn, these streets almost look the same since I would stroll down them a hundred years ago, say for the buildings that burned down thanks to Mikael. Though I'm surprised how much wasn't damaged.

I kept a leisurely stroll just looking at it. Why is seeing this place filling me with such unimaginable joy? I get it brain, this was our home, where we built a kingdom, raised Marcellus, partied every night. This is my past. I'm finding Elijah, and then getting out, after of course catching up with my nephew.

During my internal crisis that seems to becoming a usual occurrence since coming back here, I was cut short when I felt my entire body move into a wall and saw my brother with his hand around my throat.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He was seething. Why does he have to be so dramatic?

"Taking a nice look at the city, it's been a long time." I say as nonchalantly as I can considering my position right now.

"You can't be here. Marcel is antsy enough with one original being in the Quarter."

"And you're afraid of what Marcel could do to us?"

"I have a plan, Talia. Unlike you, I'm trying to make a home here once again, and I won't have you ruining it by divulging any secrets to Marcel." Ah, paranoid Klaus. I did not miss you.

"Can you take your hand off my neck, so we can have a normal conversation?" He didn't look amused. "Did it ever occur to your twisted mind that I might want to see the boy I helped you raise after thinking he was dead for more than a century? Of course not! Everything I do is an effort to undermine you, dear brother. Listen up, you're right that I have no interest in staying here longer than I have to, so while I'm here I will do what I do best: smoothing over any creases you cause. I don't want Elijah dealing with a war after you decide to undagger him."

He finally lets up the threatening posture. "Who says he's daggered, dear sister?"

"Right. You can have Rebekah on a wild goose chase, but you cannot fool me. I want to see Marcellus. I promise not to divulge any of your plan to steal his empire no matter how amusing that would be."

He looks directly into my eyes with a stern glare. "You see him then return home, and one word of warning to the would-be-king and I can reunite you with Elijah tonight." Dagger threats, how original!

"Lovely!" I say happily before skipping behind him.

I was happy Klaus lead me to a bar, I've been itching for a drink since I got here. However the moment I saw that familiar face the desire evaporated.

"Took you long enough. Not too much fun drinking alone." Oh, how I missed that voice.

"I was sidetracked by an unexpected guest. Would you like to stop hiding, sister?" He was trying to be confident.

I couldn't hold myself back anymore, and vamp-sped over to give my Marcellus a bone-crushing hug. He seemed shocked at first before melting into the hug once he realized it was me.

He smiled. "About time you showed up. You're the only Mikaelson I've been hoping to see."

"I was dealing with some things, but the news of you being alive brought me back again." I still hadn't let go of him.

"I apologize for the lack of communication." It was understandable. How can you find people trying not to be found? "But you should know I never forgot about you. As I built my kingdom, you were with me every step of the way." He can be such a smooth-talker. Gets it from me.
