"Are you sure you don't need anything else?"

Ever since last night, I haven't left Hayley's side. Except once to buy her a heating pad when she voiced the pain in her back, but besides that I haven't left her side.

I'm still not sure when Elijah is coming back, but at least we know he's in control of the situation. He always finds a way to do that.

Rebekah, with much reluctance I may add, explained his plan. Which is talk to Davina and broker a truce between the conflict with the witches and vampires. Elijah has the same assumption as Klaus that this poor girl is the key to everything. I call it an assumption because we still don't have all the facts to what Davina means to the other witches.

It's clear that whatever Sophie and the others want is more complicated than territory, otherwise just ask us to kill Marcel. Wouldn't let that happen, but according to Klaus they flat out refused the option.

No, the witches want Davina. That's the reason they want us to dismantle Marcel's empire. The only question is why? For the same reason Klaus wants her, for power?

It's frustrating how long we've been in this city, and we are still being left in the dark by those we're supposedly working with.

Klaus and Rebekah have been chasing their tails searching for the obvious route to what they want, nobody has stopped to question the ending goal. Well, except Elijah, but what else is new?

Hopefully with our big brother back in the game things will move a bit quicker.

In the meantime, his younger siblings will do what we do best! Intimidation.

Klaus has gone to fetch Sophie Devereaux so she can explain last night's events. Hayley is the pawn the witches are using to blackmail us. Killing her would not only piss us off, but they'd lose their only leverage. And Sophie would die along with the rest of them.

Personally, I doubt Sophie had any part or knowledge of what happened, but a witch is a witch and they are certainly fun to torture.

"Um...some space would be nice?" Hayley said with an airy chuckle.

"Nice try, doll. But I'm never letting you out of my sight again." I replied with the utmost sincerity.

Hayley responded by rolling her eyes. "Whatever you say, Klaus."

"I didn't mean it like that, Hayley. I just..." I'm truly at a loss for words. "I just want to ensure your safety. That's all Elijah wants....and it's what I want too."

At this she pouts. "You're being too hard on yourself."

I stiffened up at her words. "I don't know what you mean."

"I think you do. We've been over this, yeah you forgot about taking me to the Bayou but I should've opened my mouth when you'd forgotten. The result was both our faults, and I accept that. I'm not upset with you, only the whack job witches who are obsessed with making me suffer." I chuckled. "The only person upset with you is you, so stop it." Easier said than done.

"You have no idea why they attacked you?" I swiftly changed the subject. Hayley doesn't seem to notice, so there's someone I can get away with!

She shrugs. "Well.....there was the thing with Sabine during Marcel's party."

"And what thing is that?" I crossed my arms as I stood in front of her.

"I don't really know. After she told me I was having a daughter, she started convulsing and chanting in another language. I've been trying to translate what she said for days, but so far I've found nothing. Then I get attacked by some group of witches." Why didn't she tell me this happened? Granted I wasn't in the best of moods after the party, but still.
