As per usual with me, I always have to turn a good thing bad.

I know my brain is broken, but could it flood with nice thoughts for once?

My dear brother Elijah has finally returned to us in one piece and Klaus told me Marcel would not be raging war over it.

Hayley and the baby are perfectly healthy.

With the four of us back together, things are finally going back to normal.

Or at least as normal as it gets...

"You're leaving?" I look at my baby brother making his way out of the Mikaelson manor our brother so recently built for us.

"You know me, Tia. I've never been one for small towns." Kol brushed off.

"But we're all finally back together! Even Finn is with us again!" It was still surreal to me. After centuries of pleading, fighting, and daggering my stubborn, evil brother had finally undaggered our oldest brother. Whilst I've been inseparable from Kol as he was also returned to us after only 100 years, I tried my best to spend time with Finn.

"Ah yes, Finn. The one who worked with mother to try and kill the lot of us!" Kol spat bitterly and I frowned. Why couldn't he understand?

"He was manipulated by our mother. You know how much he loves her and seeks her approval, and she used that to turn him against us. It's hard to accept the truth, Beks is still processing it. No one wants to believe their parents don't love them." I learned that the hard way after Esther discovered me with a certain friend of the family.

But that was a thousand years ago...

"He's a lost cause, Tia." My brother looked at me with exhaustion and a hint of pity.

"None of our siblings are lost causes!"

At this, a smirk forms. "Even-" But I knew where he was going before he opened his mouth.

"Yes, Kol! Even him, and if you ever tell him I said that I will dagger you myself." No, he's not a lost cause, but unlike with Elijah he has to earn it to me.

"It's not like I'm the only one going on my merry way. Finn and Elijah are planning their own vacations. You, Nik, and Beks are all that's left in Mystic Falls." He places a hand on my shoulder. "This is not forever, Tia. Father's dead, and things are gonna change as a result. We don't need to stay together anymore, not that we ever needed to in the first place. That doesn't mean I won't visit you every chance I get. I just want a life to call my own as well. You deserve one too."

I looked down, deep in thought. He has a point, and I don't really want to stay in this town with people who hate our guts anymore, but Niklaus will never leave his bloody doppelgänger and Rebekah won't leave him. I can't leave Beks on her own to deal with him, can I? "I need to know all of you are safe."

"Bloody hell, you can be worse than Elijah I swear. Relax, sister. You don't need to constantly worry about us. We'll be fine, we're immortals remember?" We both chuckled. "I promise no matter how far apart we are, I will always be there for you. We will be a family, always..."

"And forever." I finish the mantra Elijah and Beks love to use.

And with a hug and quick kiss on the forehead, he goes off into the unknown.

What I didn't know was that the next time I'd see him would be the last...

I shake my head as I feel the wetness on my cheeks. How long have I been crying for?
