Time flew by, and before you knew it, it had reached the 24th of November, which meant the time of the first task was here. You had woken up earlier than usual, and made your way to the clearing inside the Forbidden Forest to help out moving and readying the dragons for the task.

It was after lunch that it happened. The Swedish short-snout having been put into place, with the golden egg that was planted together with her real eggs. You were standing on the side-line together with Charlie and his co-workers, in case, you know, something life-threathening happened, but you were crossing your fingers that it wouldn't.

Cedric Diggory was the first one out, and you had this feeling that you had seen him before, but couldn't quite put your finger on it. Either way, he had done a good job at transfigurating a rock into a dog, as a distraction for the dragon, but he did end up getting burned in the face, as the dragon had sensed him getting too close to her eggs, but he did retrieve the golden egg, ending his task and making room for the next champion. That was when you remembered! Cedric Diggory was that first-year kid who helped out in the hospital wing the year people got petrified! Though he had been really popular troughout the whole year, but you never really spoke to him, except for that one time when he had introduced himself to you when you woke up from your petrified state. He seemed like an all right kid, though kid wasn't excactly the right word to use for him anymore, as he was now a seventeen year old sixth-year competing in the Triwizard tournament, which kind of made you feel old for a sec.

The secound champion out was Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons, who was retreving her egg from the Common Welsh green. You had never seen the girl before, but she was indeed beautiful, with her long silvery hair, you figured she must be part veela. She too did an all right job, putting a sleep enchantment on the dragon, but the draon snored, which sent a jet of fire at her, and set her skirt on fire, but she quickly extinguished it and retrieved the egg.

The third champion happened to be the Bulgarian seeker Victor Krum, who went to Durmstrang. He got the Chinese fireball. He had confidently walked out and blinded the dragon with a curse, but the dragon ended up crushing half of her own eggs, something you found to be awful, and you could absolutley not believe it when he got the best score out of the first three Champions, but there was still one more left, something that made you realise that the youngest one, unfortunatly got the most vicious dragon of them all, the Hungarian Horntail.

Luck truly wasn't on Harry's side this year, and it was showing. You could see he was nervous when he entered the arena, but he actually did do a great job in the end. He had summoned his broom and manouvered around the dragon to get the golden egg. Neither him nor the dragon got hurt, no eggs were crushed, and you were simply impressed by what the fourth-year had done, and by the end, he got first place together with Victor Krum.

You watched as the Hogwarts students went back to the castle, the Gryffindors celebrating especially loud like you had always remembered them to do, the Durmstrang students celebrating too as they returned to their ship, while the Beauxbatons quietly returned to their carriage.

You walked over to where Charlie was, and saw them already putting the dragons back in their crates, readying them for their return to Romania.

Then you realised.

They were going back already. You felt a sudden pang in your chest, but there wasn't really anything you could do. You watched as Charlie helped hold up one of the walls of the Short-snouts crate, while someone else fastened it.

Apparently you had been staring the whole time, only realising when Charlie removed his gloves, and walked over to you with a smile on his face.
