It was your last day working at the creature reserve in Hogsmade. Was it weird? Kind of? You had been working there for about three years now, and by the end of the day you might never come back. Not that you didn't like the place, because you did, but there were other things you wanted more, like being closer to Charlie and work with dragons.
Connie wasn't too happy about you moving, but after about one week of her calling you a traitor, she eventually got over it, and accepted the fact that no matter what she did, you were still going to move away.
"Just promise to write at least once a month..." Connie said as your last day was reaching its end. She had been quiet most of the day, which was unusual of her, though you did kind of get it, too.
"Only if you remember to write to me." You playfully smiled at her, something that did get her in a better mood.
"Oh I'll write you a letter every time Cody does something illegal, which might be a tad few more times than what you'd like." You gave a small laugh at that. Every time Cody did something he wasn't supposed to, you were always the first one to comment about it, so it was kind of good to know someone else would do that for you now, or at least acknowledge it.
You and Connie had been chatting for over two hours now, completly forgetting about time, as your work day had actually ended an hour ago, and it wasn't until Cody approached you that you realised.
"What are you still doing here? You know I don't pay overtime without special agreements, right?" He joked as he walked up behind you two, then he gave his attention to you. "(L/n), there's someone here for you, said something about you not being at home."
You got up from the ground, as you and Connie had been feeding the puffskeins, doing this while sitting down, but before you got too far, Cody stopped you with a hand on your shoulder.
"It's gonna be quiet here without you, and your constant reminders about what's legal or not." Cody joked again, but then got more serious. "I've never been good at goodbyes, but I want you to know that it has been a pleasure having you work here. And I'm sorry about all of the scars you've gotten because of me." He quickly added the last thing.
"No, you're not." You smiled, knowing well that he didn't mean the last thing.
"No, I'm not, but I'm legally required to say so." He gave your shoulder a pat before slightly pushing you in the direction he just came from. "But it has been a pleasure having you work here, and I want you to remember that." He smiled, then told Connie to go home, and made his way in the other direction.
Connie joined you on the short way to your 'office', which wasn't exactly an office, but more like a desk that you could put deviders around, which you mostly kept open.
When you reached the main building you could instantly see who Cody had said was waiting for you, though it wasn't really a mystery as you knew beforehand that Charlie was coming over to help you with the moving, and sure enough the red-haired man was there observing some of the pictures on the wall, but he turned around the moment the door shut behind you, and gave a bright smile.
"Sorry, did I keep you waiting for long?" You asked as you got closer to him.
"Nah, maybe ten minutes or so." You stod there, smiling for a few secounds before Connie cleared her throat from next to you. "Oh, Connie, wasn't it?" Charlie snapped out of his small daze, and gave the girl a smile. "I haven't seen you since Hogwarts. You cut your hair shorter?"
While they had a conversation, you walked over to your desk to pack your remaining things, and then headed back to where they were standing.
"You ready to leave, (Y/n)?" Charlie asked as you aproached them.
