Always You

CHAPTER 17

The next weeks Draco and I tried to see each other as much as possible, but in private.

I didn't want my friends to see that I was dating him, not because I was ashamed of it, only because I didn't want to argue with them again.

We always met at the astronomy tower or in the room of requirement. It was our place.

We stayed there hours talking about everything. He also discovered that I was good at drawing, and he wanted to see. So, when we met, I was used to draw him as a portrait. He kept telling me I had to do it more often, but since I was a kid, I liked to keep that part of me a secret.

"you are the only one to know this part of me" I said him one day in the room of requirement smiling because I was embarrassed.

"I love that" he smiled at me and kissed me softly.

I was finally happy, everything was perfect and I couldn't ask anything better. Draco seemed a bad guy, but he was actually so sweet. He made me feel right.

My friends were starting to understand that something was happening, but they probably wanted me to tell them before any wrong insinuation. At first, I didn't really care about that, I was really happy in that period.

"I should tell them about us, you know they are understanding something is up" I said to Draco while we were at the astronomy tower. It was late afternoon, and the cold air of late January was getting colder.

"you have to do what you think is best for you" he said looking at me.

"for us. It's about you too." he sighed

"I know, but the choice is yours. They are your friends. Honestly, I don't care what they think about us"

I nodded, even though it was something I had to figure out, I didn't want to spend time with Draco talking about that stuff.

I changed subject "what are going to do in Easter holidays?"

He shrugged "nothing special. My parents sent a letter and told me they are busy. I think I'll stay here. What about you?" I smiled

"I'll stay here too"

He turned to look at me, he was looking at the landscape, and smiled. He was so beautiful, in every shape

"Perfect" I smiled back.

I put my head on his shoulder, we stayed there for another hour. It was my favourite part of the day, sitting with him, and talking about everything. I could be myself without being judged.

It was part of the day: during the day we tried to avoid each other just not to get caught (but when we both had a free period we usually met in an empty class and stay together – practically we only snogged in those occasions) but before or after dinner we usually stayed together. I invented an excuse, saying that I had to help some third-year students with their homework in the library. and my friends actually believed that, or so I hoped.

"Draco, I have to tell you something" I looked up at him, and I could see his face get worried.

"you can tell me anything, you know that" I nodded and smiled

"do you remember that day when we first came here, after the ball?" he nodded as to tell me to continue.

"Well, um, you said you thought I didn't feel the same way as you did. I think I have never told you directly that I love you too Draco, with all my heart" he smiled and kissed me.

His hands on my cheeks, as if he was afraid of losing me. It was perfect, he was perfect.

After a while he broke the kiss, and look directly in my eyes, and I did the same.

Then he smiled "I already knew that, but I liked to hear that" we laughed, and I hit him in the arm making him laugh more.

"I think it's better to go. It's freezing"

"Yeah, you're right. After you my darling" I laughed and started going downstairs. When we were at the end of the staircase, I looked at him and said

"I'm going to tell my friends that we are dating. Tonight" he smiled and kissed my forehead

"if you want to, it's ok to me"

"wish me luck" I said to him, I was starting to get nervous and anxious

"Good luck love" and we exited the door to go to our dormitories.

I wanted to tell them everything, because I didn't want to lie when I had to see Draco.

He made me feel happy, he loved me, and I couldn't ask for anything better. I wanted my friends to know that I was happy with him, and I hoped they would understand me, us.

After telling the password, I entered the room and I found Harry, Ron, Ginny and Hermione studying together. They all looked at me at the same time. I took a deep breath and walked in their direction.

"Finally, we couldn't find you anywhere Hannah" said Ron smiling. Anything was better than studying for Ron

I smiled back "Hi guys, um, I have to tell you something very important to me" they nodded as if they wanted me to go on.

"yeah, so, um, Draco and I are dating. It has been going on for a while, but I decided to tell you now just because I was afraid of your reaction" I said without even thinking.

They all seemed surprised at first, but then they all laughed.

I didn't understand why they were laughing. I could imagine every type of reaction, but this one.

"you owe me 5 galleons Ron" Harry said laughing. What?

"What?" I asked "you bet on my relationship with Draco?"

"we bet on when you would tell us, I said a month, Ron more" Harry explained, still laughing

"did you really think that we didn't know where you were going? You disappeared for hours" Hermione said laughing with Ginny

"So, you're not angry with me, or upset?"

"No Hannah, we have already told you, we want you to be happy. And if you are happy with Malfoy, it's ok for us, even though we find difficult you can be happy with him"

"Ginny!" Hermione said, but we all laughed.

It went better than I expected. Everything was perfect, my friends weren't angry with me, and I had Draco my by side. I couldn't ask for anything better.

I sat with them and we started talking about the next quidditch game. I couldn't wait to say it to Draco.
