The whole day was so boring. I am not saying na sana may mangyaring krimen pero sadyang nakakabagot ngayong araw. These few days were peaceful, and fewer crimes had happened than on the usual days. I should be thankful, but boredom is killing me.

"Jayshin." Argus called me by my name.

"Just to remind you that I'm still eight- years older than you," I said, annoyed, and reached for the file he tossed on top of my table.

Argus Salazar is an undercover agent from our headquarters. Wala rin akong masyadong alam sa kaniya 'cause he doesn't share his personal life. I do understand that since he is an undercover agent, his identity must be kept under the wraps.

He grinned and played with his lip-ring using his tongue. "Okay, Deputy Zacharias, or should I call you Kuya Jayshin?" he mockingly stated and grimaced.

He placed the mug on my table and then walked in front of the glass window.

I hissed and focused on reading the file. It's about the manipulation and wicked schemes of YG and SC Forensics. Naka-receive kami ng report from an anonymous citizen na may katiwaliang nagaganap. They are tampering with the autopsy reports and releasing fraud copies to close the case without any haste or getting into trouble.

"I saw your daughter a while ago. She's playing with the kids. She seemed like na masaya siya na wala ka sa buhay niya," Argus babbled and laughed his ass off.

Iniangat ko ang paningin sa kaniya. I sent him glares and raised my middle finger. "Fuck you, Argus!" I hissed at him.

"You're not my type! I would rather fuck my bitches hardcore." I grimaced and shook my head. When it comes to my daughter, I'm very sensitive to that topic, and he has the audacity to get on my nerves by using my lovely daughter.

However, I'm a bit grateful to him because he found my daughter. I don't know. Only heaven knows.

"That's so funny. You don't find it funny, huh?" he giggled and restrained himself from laughing so hard.

"You don't know what a joke is, don't you?" I asked, annoyed, and sipped my coffee. I should bring him to a comedy bar or buy him a book that's full of sensible jokes and humorous stories. That would probably be a big help for him.

Wala kaming matinong pag-uusapan and I don't like how he delivers his jokes.

Heaven knows how badly I want to be with them and take care of them, but my wife doesn't want me to.

It was my maternal cousin. Brint Verstte is my second cousin from my mother's side. Almost all of us—my brother and cousins—are in the same field.

I tapped the green button to answer his call. "Hey," I greeted him.

"Hindi ako tinanggap ng YG," he stated, and he didn't bother greeting me back. He doesn't really know the word 'polite'.

The way he talks, I'm sure that his application didn't go well according to his plan. He talks arrogantly and with pride.

"Bro, you know Masha Tanck? She rejected my application form.

"That's a problem, but we still have option number two, remember?" I queried from the other line.

"Yeah, option number two, SC Forensics. Update you later," he sighed and spoke submissively. I pressed the power-off button on my phone to end my call.

I maneuvered my car and drove until I found myself in front of my daughter's school.

MY PHONE whistled, indicating that someone texted me. It's my brother, Ruce. I opened the text message and almost dropped my phone after reading the text message.

Ruce Zacharias: Atlas Chen is dead. That's the passage.

Cringes engulfed my whole system. Patay na siya? How come? He's healthy besides wala siyang sakit o cancer. Wala rin akong nabalitaang naaksidente siya. Paano nangyaring patay na siya? Ginago yata ako ni Ruce.

Atlas Chen was one of my lecturers back in college. He was quite strict inside the classroom but friendly outside the classroom. He is an excellent teacher.
