I was pacing back and forth, having second thoughts. He's a close friend of mine, but he's too annoying and too clingy.

My phone rang three times. It's an unknown number. As a Deputy Police Chief, I don't usually ignore unknown calls because there's a possibility it's an important tip from an anonymous citizen, though I'm an undercover police officer. No one knows my real identity as a DPC except for my colleagues.

I answered the call and waited for him to talk. I inserted my left hand into my pockets and tapped my right foot on the ground.

"Jayshin Zacharias," he said from the other line. Wait. How did he know my name? Nobody knows my real name aside from my friends and co-police. I'm using Hanzo whenever I introduce myself to anyone for precautionary purposes.

They know me as Hanzo Zacharias, a businessman. They may know me by the name of Hanzo, but I have never been to any business events. Kaya wala silang ideya sa hitsura ko.

"And you are?" I asked from the other line.

"Alucard Zialent, a detective from South HQ," he introduced himself. His surname, Zialent, is a bit familiar.

"Anong kailangan mo?" I queried directly to the point.

"I'll send the location. See you." No more than that, and he ended the call.

I was about to call him earlier to seek help, but it seemed like he's the only one who needs a hand.

"Hey Jayshin," he greeted with a glee. "I have been calling your number for the nth time but it says the line is busy. Whom are you talking to, huh?" Then his mood suddenly changed, from happy to annoyed one.

"Hey," I greeted him back, grimacing.

"You know Alucard? I forwarded your number to him since he asked for help. He's a friend of mine kaya hindi ko siya matanggihan. And you know, you are the only person I know that can lend him a hand aside from Brint but he said he's busy applying for Head Forensic Analyzer," he babbled from the other line.

Kasedohan ba namang mag-apply bilang head? Malamang hindi siya tatanggapin.

"He called earlier; that's why my line is busy," I explained, tapping my feet on the ground.

"Oh, is that so? Saan ka? Nasa coffeeshop ka na ba?" he then asked. What?

I hissed at him and turned my back. Simply because of his name, Havier, is damn powerful.

Bahala siya sa buhay niya. I tapped the down button of the elevator and went inside. It was about to close when he entered.

"Bakit mo ko iniwan? Don't you know that's rude?" he snorted, loosening his tie.

I hissed and waited for the elevator to land on the ground floor. The audacity!

"Umalis ka d'yan, Vale!" I spoke in a firm voice.

"Gusto ko lang namang i-try itong sasakyan mo," he grimaced and pouted as if I would fall for that.

"You're a reckless driver, baka makabangga ka pa," I said, irritated. Marahas at sapilitan ko siyang tinulak papuntang shotgun seat.

"Fuck!"

Like you know, hindi ko pa kasi na-try," he said, annoyed and caressing his head.

He talks normally, but he sounds like he is bragging. And to tell you frankly, ako lang ang kaibigan niyang nakakatagal sa ugali niya.

"Mumurahin? You're calling my Maybach mumurahin? Damn, this costs a billion dollars, dude," hindi makapaniwalang bulalas ko at inis na hinarap siya. Everyone cannot afford a luxurious car like mine.

"That's cheap, dude. Naghihirap ka na ba?" he then asked and put on his seat belt.

"Anyway, hindi mo ba ako kukuning lawyer para sa pagkuha sa rights at custody ng anak mo?" he opened the subject while gazing at me in the rear view mirror.

"All prosecutors are lawyers, dude. I'm a prosecutor slash lawyer. Lahat ng klase ng law inaral ko, personal injury, immigration, criminals, general practice, civil, tax, and any types you can think of. That's how talented I am!" he started bragging.

Oh, c'mmon! Here we go again.

"Palibhasa walang pumupuri sayo.

He hissed. "I'm just stating the facts," he argued defensively.

"Yeah, you're stating the fucks," I smirked, mocking him.

"Nice joke, Jayshin," he giggled.

"Joke? What the fuck? Hindi 'yun joke," I hissed at him while he's still laughing his ass off.

"This coffee shop is so cheap!" Vale said, annoyed. As expected from a pompous rich kid.

Alucard Zialent, a police detective from the South HQ, showcased his gratitude for my presence.

"How about me?

"Oh, thanks, Vale," he said with a thick sarcasm. "Have a seat," he invited, pointing to the chair beside me.
