Kelly

I knocked on the door of the house and waited for them to let me in.

"Ah Claudette," Chloë opened the door, "come in."

"Bonjour Claudette," I greeted as I entered.

"I have some news for you," she said.

"Okay?" I questioned.

"The embassy wants you to end your shadowing and graduate from training in the next three weeks," she stated.

"That's great," I smiled mutely.

"Yeah congratulations. That's also if you don't mess up here. You need to remember that you're still a recruit," she tilted her head.

I nodded and looked down. I didn't want to get on Chloë's bad side. Especially since I didn't know what she was capable of. The objective was to stay under the radar and extract information.

I walked into the living room and saw Grayson sitting on the couch.

"Grayson, this is Claudette. She's shadowing our operation before she graduates from spy training," Chloë explained.

"Bonjour," he stood up and greeted me.

"Bonjour," I greeted back. I saw him look at me with this odd sense of mystery. It was as if he was trying to read me.

"Now that introductions are done Claudette can get started on today's work," she said as she shoved a file into my chest and I held it.

"I'll get on it," I nodded.

"You better," she scoffed and left the room.

Grayson

Something about Claudette felt familiar.

"Chloë," I said as I followed her into the other room.

"Hmm?" she answered as she looked over some files on the table.

"Why did the embassy send Claudette here?" I asked.

"She's the top performing recruit or something like that," she waved me off, "you don't focus on her. You focus on what we discussed yesterday."

"What makes you think that you can do that without the embassy knowing?" I asked crossing my arms. She was about to do something sinister.

"Well if we all just keep our mouths shut then we won't have a problem and I can do whatever I want because I'm doing it for my country. Unlike you, you traitor," she gritted through her teeth and left the room.

Hugo walked in as she left and gave me a stare.

"What now?" I rolled my eyes.

"We're counting on you not to mess this up," he said.

"Or else what?" I stepped forward, getting in his personal space.

"It would be a shame if the US government suddenly found out you were alive and working as a French government informant," he dropped his voice down to a low hum. I just looked at him and walked out of the room before he stopped me.

"Do me a favour monsieur muscle," he chirped.

"And what is that exactly?" I scoffed.
