Chapter 16: The beginning of the ending
"Alright, let me check your breathing pattern."
The squad had just finished bathing in the sun gaining full immunity towards the sun. The assistant, Yushiro was examining their body state to make sure that there's no abnormality that happened during their transformation.
"Hmm, okay then. Looks like you're all fit to fight." He said to them
"Yes! Finally i can fight!" Inosuke shouted
"Geez calm down. We just finished the body exam." Aoi scolded
"Thank you Yushiro san, again for everything." Nezuko bowed
"Don't mention it. Now take your swords and guns at the table. Tanjiro said to meet him at the main estate by nightfall." He explained
"That's a few hours from now." Zenitsu said concerned
"Then i suggest we hurry up then." Genya suggested
"Also, we should take the time to change our uniform as well." Says Nezuko
"We gotta hurry up then!" Inosuke exclaimed
"Also, remember this. You may be immune to the sun but you're still a demon. Don't cut off each others necks got it?" Yushiro warned
"Hai!" They all shouted in unison
As they all departed, it was already almost nightfall. They all went their separate ways to get themselves sorted. This is an outright war so they gathered all the things they need for battle. A fresh new uniform along with some supplements like ammo and medkit. Right after nightfall, they all gathered at the main estate.
Genya: "Everyone is here?"
Zenitsu: "All three of us are here."
Nezuko: "Where's Aoi san?"
Aoi: "Right behind you."
Genya: "Everybody got their stuff sorted?"
Inosuke: "I'm excited to fight some demons!"
Nezuko: "Calm down Inosuke san. We still need to wait for my brother."
Kiriya: "Everyone? You're all back!"
As they were busy talking among themselves, they didn't realize the owner of the mansion was standing in the doorway looking surprised by the unexpected visit.
All: "Oyakata sama!"
Kiriya: "I, uh. What? How? Where did you?"
Genya: "Oyakata sama. Please forgive us for our sudden absences."
Zenitsu: "We all have a reason for it."
Kiriya: "Where is Tanjiro san?"
Aoi: "We thought he would be here already."
Tanjiro: "And indeed, i am!"
They all looked up to see the red haired man standing on top of the roof. He jumped down to their level with his face still covered in blood.
Tanjiro: "I thought i told you by nightfall not by midnight."
Zenitsu: "We did our best to get here by nightfall. It was just we took a detour that's all."
Kiriya: "Tanjiro san? What is going on here? Why are you covered in blood?"
Tanjiro: "Oyakata sama, pardon for the sudden intrusion. But we have a suppressing matter in our hand right now."
