Valentina sat at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall, a green tie around her neck listening to her friends talk and compare schedules, merlin they were boring. Pushing around the food on her plate she studied the enchanted ceiling, it was truly beautiful. She felt a little more comfortable once she got inside Hogwarts and sat down at the Slytherin table. The castle was like Durmstrang, a little lighter and smaller but similar. She found the house rule quite strange as at Durmstrang they didn't have houses. Apparently her mother had contacted Professor Dumbledore before hand and convinced him to let Valentina be sorted before hand. Her mother would be so glad she'd ended up in Slytherin, she'd have to write soon.
At the Gryffindor table Sirius Black, James Potter, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew laughed and joked loudly as they ate their food before them.
"You should of seen their faces when that stink bomb went off on the train" James cackled
"You put it in the wrong compartment James. Wasn't your target Snape?" Remus Lupin asked raising an amused eyebrow
"Okay, maybe I fucked up. But the face of those first years were priceless. Don't you agree Sirius? Sirius? Hellooo" James laughed poking Sirius
"Sorry mate, you were saying?" Sirius replied shaking his head
"What's a matter with him?" Peter asked curiosity
"Nothings wrong with me" Sirius replied perplexed pulling a face making James laugh
"Debatable" Remus hummed
"He's been like this since he saw Regulus on the train" James explained to Remus and Peter, "you need to forget about em mate. They're not worth it" James said slinging an arm around Sirius shoulder.
The three of them turned to look at Regulus at the Slytherin table, Sirius just angrily pushed around his food.
"Hey, whose that?" Peter asked looking for James to answer his question automatically
"I don't know, I did see her on the train though" James replied thoughtfully
"Who?" Remus asked
"That girl, next to Regulus. The one with the dark hair" James pointed out
"I've never seen her before" Remus hummed, "she's probably new"
"Probably" James nodded, "hey Sirius have you seen her at any pure blood events before?"
"I don't give a shit about the Slytherins" Sirius grumbled not looking up
"Blimey mate, was just asking" James whistled turning back around and carrying on eating
"She's quite pretty, don't you think" Peter said quietly
This made Sirius head snap up
"For Merlins sake" Remus groaned shaking his head, "look what you've done now Peter, he's actually interested now"
"Sorry!"
"She's a Slytherin Moony. I would touch her with a ten foot pole" Sirius rolled his eyes, watching the girl closely, "but now you mention it I've never seen her before either"
"Must be from some where else then" James concluded
"How'd you know she's pure blooded" Remus asked
"You can just tell" Sirius replied, "the way she sits, how she holds herself. She's practically got rich pure blood written on her forehead, and look who she's sat with. Snape, Rosier, Avery, Regulus and Mulciber would never let her sit with them if she didn't"
"You're right" Remus nodded
"I wonder if she's in our year or classes" Peter pondered
"Oh don't tell me you fancy her Padfoot" Sirius groaned, "you're almost as bad as prongs"
"Oi!"
"What?"
"He's right Prongs" Remus agreed
"This year is the year. I can feel it. I'm going to win Evans over, just you wait" James said pointing his fork at Remus
