A/N: This is the other half of the same episode, so it's still kind of different. This one happens during the rest of the parent/teacher conferece day, so it's focused in what Carol was doing for the rest of the day. But as promissed, I tried to make it more intense, and I hope you enjoy it.

Warning: Verbal harassment, mentioning of Kate and Derek's relationship.

By the end of the afternoon, Carolinne was jogging in the woods when she saw two men walking right behind a woman. They were just a couple feet away, and she approached without beeing seen. Blonde hair, hazel eyes, cold features. The words "You kind of look like her" crossed Carol's mind and she instantly recognized the woman as Katherine Argent. Would a sane person follow them? Hell no. Did Carolinne follow them? Of course she did. And eventually ended up at the remains of the Hale house, as she expected. As Kate walked inside, Carol looked for one of the windows she'd seen the other way to get in without anyone noticing. And she made sure to do so before Kate turned off the music, so that they couldn't hear her.
-No one home?- One of the men questioned.
-Oh, he's here. -Kate said with that evil smile. -He's just not feeling particularly hospitable.
-Maybe he's out burying a bone in the backyard. -The other man said, much to Kate's (and Carol's) disgust.
-Really? A dog joke? We're going there and that's the best you got? If you want to provoke him, say something like: Too bad your sister bit it" before her first litter. Too bad she howled like a bitch... When we CUT HER IN HALF!
Derek growled from somewhere and knocked the first man down. Then he finally appeared and the other one tried to attack him, but he took that one down too. The last one satnding was Kate herself, and that one he failed. He jumped right in her direction, but she electrocuted him with a kind of... lightsaber?
-Wow... -She started. -This one grew in all the right places. -She walked arround Derek while he tried to recover. -I don't know weather to kill it or... Lick it.
"Ew. First thing to do when you get home: take a bath in holy water." Was all Carolinne could think of as the scene of Kate licking him formed in her head. She was sneaking behind walls as she watched them from the shadows. She thought of helping him, but it was a suicidal idea. All she had was a dagger hidden in her sports bra, but that was far from enough against Kate, and it would make the huntress suspiciuos about Scott.
He crawled away from her, but she followed him. Once he was able to get support in a couch to try to get up, he attempted to attack her one more time, but again, she electrocuted him. And laughed.
-Ah...900.000 volts. You never were good with electricity, were you? Or fire. -She chuckled. Yep, that woman was pure poison. -Which is why I'm gonna let you in on a little secret.
Carol listened as Kate told Derek that the hunters hadn't killed his sister. That the whole "chopping her body in half" was a little too "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" for her taste. At first he didn't believe her, so she spoke again, slowly, making sure he was listening to her heartbeats. Her lips were almost sticked to his face when she finished talking, and that's when Carol realized something. Kate was too confident on her moves. She knew exactly where to strike to take him down. And when she asked if Derek thought she was lying, he said it wouldn't be the first time. Add all of her sexual comments to the situation, and there you have it: she wasn't just acting a huntress. She was acting like a psychotic ex-girlfriend.
Kate was very dissapointed when she found out Derek didn't know who the Alpha was either.
-Wow. Guess who just became totally useless?
She pulled a rifle and started shooting in all directions as Derek ran out of the house and Carolinne stayed hidden in the other room. She jumped through another window and ran in the same way he was heading.
He ran as fast as he could, but even with werewolf speed he was still weakened by the shocks, so he couldn't get too far. Well, he was far enough to get out of Kate's sight. At least he was alone. Or so he thougt.
-Are you okay there? -Carolinne.
He turned his head abruptly in her direction.
-Why woudn't I be?
-900.000 volts? Sounds painfull to me.
-I'm fine. -It took him a second to realize what that meant. -Wait, you saw that?!
-Yes, I did. I was there.
He didn't know if he was more angry or ashamed. Probably angry.
-What were you even doing at my house?!
-I followed her there.
-And then what, you just stayed to watch the show?!
-Pretty much.
-Oh my God... You- He stopped and sighed. -You can't just walk into people's houses and watch as they get chased by killers!
-True. But it's already done, and I'm sorry. Now... Can I ask you something?
-What is it? -He hesitated but accepted. I mean, how worse could it get?
She took a deep breath.
-You were involved with her, weren't you?
Much worse appearently. He didn't say anything, but his face went pale and his eyes widened.
-I'll take that as a yes.
And now, shame was definitely stronger than rage. Now she knew. His deepest, darkest secret. The intoxicating truth that he'd kept hidden for 6 years, only for a nosy teenage girl to show up in the wrong place at the wrong time and put the pieces toghther. He couldn't bring himself too look in her eyes as she started talking again:
-That explains a lot.
-Like what? -What was she talking about now?
-Like why you hate that Scott is with Allison. Because you've already been there. Or why you always aproach people so agressively and only stablish alliances when it's extremaly necessary. Because if you don't make connections, then ot won't hurt so much kf they betray you. And why you looked like you'd just seen a ghost when you saw me the day you were arrested. But I'm not like her, you know? I can be cruel if I want to, but I'm not a murderer. And I'm certainly not a sexual predator.
He was now staring at her as she spoke, but still avoiding her eyes. He knew she wasn't Kate. And ever since that day in the gas staion, each time he saw her, she looked less like the huntress. For the first time since she dropped the bomb on him, he dared to look in her eyes, expecting to see judgement or dispise. But instead, he saw kindness. Those hazel eyes were so different from the ones that had just chased him trough his house. They were almost... Friendly.
-Look, I really am sorry for invading your privacy like that. I just wanted to see by myself what she was capable of.
-It's fine. But following her was a risky move. So either you're very stupid or you really aren't scared of people. Whichever it was, that it was one of the most reckless things I've ever seen.
-Yeah, I'm aware of that.
-Oh, and Carolinne?
-Yes?
He sighed.
-Please don't tell anyone.
She gave him a sad smile.
-I could never do that. Your secret is safe with me.
Akward silence. They started to walk away and then she stopped and said:
-Hey...
-What?
-If you went through something like this amd you're still standing, then you're a very strong person.
He nodded in her direction.
-Thank you.
She definitely wasn't Kate.
---------------------------------------
Obviously (but still unfortunately) there wasn't enough Holy water for Carolinne to fill a bathub with, but she did take a long hot shower in Blair Waldorf stile. There were no hair and body products in the world that could make her clear her mind from what she'd just witnessed, but at least it was relaxing.
When she walked out and checked her phone, there was a missing call from no one less then Melissa McCall. Now that was interesting. She called Melissa right back.
-Hi Carol.
-Hey Melissa! I just saw that you called me like, more than an hour ago, but my phone was silenced, I was... -What was she doing? -Uhm, watching... something.
-Something?
-Yeah, I'm still trying to figure if it was gore or porn, but I think I'm going with crappy adaptation of a Mary Shelley book.
-Okay... Do I want to know?
-Oh no, spare yourself from the details.
-...Right. I just wanted to know if Scott was with you, or if at least you happened to know where he was.
-He isn't and I don't. Sorry.
-It's okay, thanks for returning my call. Bye Carolinne.
-Bye Melissa.
Ooh, that was not good. The two lovebirds had probably lost track of time in their birthday adventure. She tried calling both of them, but none of them answered her, so she just decided to read.
About an hour later, Jackson got home, appearently annoyed at something.
-You look happy. -She said sarcastically. -Where have you been?
-Practicing. Didn't turn out really well.
-I didn't have the best afternoon either, if it's any consolation.
-Mom and Dad are at the parent/teacher conference, right?
-Yep, and then they're having dinner toghether.
-So, it's just you and me home tonight.
-All by ourselves.
-Okay then. I'm gonna shower.
Once he was out, she had an idea.
-Hey, I was thinking: my mind is about to explode and you seem stressed. So, why don't we have a movie marathon and stay up untill 4 a.m. eating junk food in my room?
He looked at her and seemed to think for a second before smiling and saying:
-I'm not watching Hannibal.
-Well, I'm not watching Fast and Furious. -She teased back.
-I'll get the chocolate.
-I'll make the popcorn.

For the record: Yes, he watched Hannibal. And yes, she watched Fast and Furious. Then she made him watch Heathers. Their lives were kind of messed up, but that didn't mean they couldn't have that one night to do nothing toghether.
