James hasn't been able to get Avery out of his head and he couldn't help but want to be more than friends. It was all he could think about.

Sometimes he'd go to bed thinking about her and dream about a future they could have- and in fact that was something he was doing now, just not sleeping.

As James stares at Avery he is pulled into yet another daydream.

*Daydream*

"My love,"

James is currently trying to wake up Avery but she seems to be way to tired to wake up.

"Mm, James," Avery drags out the 's' in a sleepy yet soft tone.

"C'mon, darling it's time to wake up." James says smiling slightly as he presses small kisses to her forehead.

"My love, do I have to?"

"Yes, c'mon before Sirius comes in the dorm and jumps on you."  James chuckles as Avery opens her eyes and rubs them.

"Okay, w- Wait! What time is it?" Avery frantically asks as she sits up.

"Almost time for class,"

Avery immediately gets up and pulls out her extra uniform she keeps in the boys' dorm and starts to pull off her shir-

"Mr. Potter," McGonagall's voice is loud as James' vision comes back and he sees that class is over.

"Huh? Minnie! Oh, I did that on purpose," James unconvincingly says as he gets up and packs his things.

"Mhm," McGonagall obviously doesn't believe him, "Mr Potter I have been calling your name for the past five minutes after you sat there for almost ten minutes,"

That's when James' mouth goes agape and he closes his mouth before saying, "Oh, must've been really daydreaming,"

"Ah, alright. Now go on, head to class," McGonagall shoos him away.

James is on his way to the History of Magic class when he sees Avery holding a first-year in one of her famous hugs.

His heart melted at the sight and he couldn't help but smile.

From behind, Sirius sees this and smirks as he walks up to James and claps him on shoulder, frightening the boy.

"Merlin, Pads! You scared me," the bespectacled boy exclaims, but not loud enough for Avery and the first-year to hear.

"Gotta crush, aye?" Sirius teases.

"Wh-what? No, no,"

"It's okay if you do," the Black boy shrugs as he sticks his hands in his pockets before grinning, "how 'bout we skip class and plant a prank on Snivellus?"

"Let's go," the Potter boy grins back at his best friend.

Across the corridor sat Harley and the small first-year, hugging.

"You know, I only found the me I am today a few months after getting sorted into Hufflepuff," Avery suddenly says causing the young Slytherin to sniff and look up.

"What?"

"I hadn't always fit in with others." Harley says as she looks down at the small boy.

"What does this have to do with anything?" the boy asks softly.

"I was always 'too nice' and soft that people didn't like, they did take advantage of me sometimes but I was always too afraid to say something."

It was true. People had gotten annoyed with her for a while because of her being so nice. They had grown to get used to it over the years though.
