Preparing for war

"We can wait," Star said, stopping in her tracks.

"Go, I'll be fine," I urged.

"I'll stay with her," Zion said, grabbing my hand.

"NO, I'm not leaving you," Esat said, her voice quivering.

I hadn't noticed it before because she was so good at hiding it but I noticed it now. She was terrified, I could see it in her eyes. After all, she was the most human out of all of us so why wouldn't she be. My eyes softened as I looked at her. I didn't have it in me to tell her no so I nodded.

The rest of them agreed, going through the tunnel as Esat stayed back with me and Zion.

"Are you okay?" I asked, eying her in concern.

"Yeah," she said, nodding frantically.

"You know, you don't have to be here. I could take you back to your mom where you'll be safe and away from all this."

"NO!" she protested.

"Maybe she's right," Zion added, causing her to turn her angry gaze to him.

"NO, I'm not leaving you. Edward would have wanted us to stay together."

"Edward would have wanted you to stay safe," I rebutted.

"I won't go and if you make me, I'll never forgive you," she said decidedly.

"Fine," I said, ignoring Zion eying me in a 'do it anyway' manner. But something inside me confirmed that she was right. As much as I hated the idea of her fighting in the war and potentially getting hurt, she was supposed to be here for whatever reason.

"Alright, that's everyone," Zion said, looking at me.

I stepped into the tunnel after Zion and Star before turning around and looking at the entrance of the tunnel.

I had no idea what I was doing and the dark magic sensed it before I asked, whispering the spell I needed to close the tunnel.

Kersebio sertae

I opened my mouth, repeating the words aloud and watched as the tunnels opening closed up, showing nothing but a solid, rock foundation of the wall that had been there before.

"Let's go," Zion said, motioning his head towards the pathway down the tunnel.

It didn't take long for the tunnel to end and for us to walk into what seemed to be a entire Academy underneath the original one. It was barren, but also full. Tables were scattered all around the large empty space and I noticed multiple doors on each corner of the wall. Students were entering and exiting one particular one, food in hand. There was a built in Cafeteria here as well. Whoever made this had really planned for the worst.

I saw a door straight ahead that caught my eye with the word, "Arma" written above it.

"What does that mean?" Esat asked, pointing towards it.

"Weapons," I translated. I walked forward, curious to see the weapons they had in store and hoping it was enough. Almost everyone came with weapons but it wouldn't hurt to have more.

I wriggled the handle but it was locked. I tried tapping into my werewolf strength to crush it but it wouldn't budge. I stared at it in confusion before looking back to Zion and Esat.

"Maybe it's magic," Esat offered.

I turned back, trying to use my dark magic to somehow overwhelm the handle but the handle got hot, turning red as it burned me. I let go immediately, wincing in pain.
