The day was bright.
Ashley went to Mahatik City's Highway Mall branch as she inspected the performance and cleanliness of the mall. If the promotion programs she approved weren't executed well, it seems that there will be another meeting with the whole
Although all the Highway Malls are well known, there's always something to improve on that will catch the people's attention. During holidays, it is expected for the malls to provide something grand and try to pull people to shop.
The Highway Mall is well known for its customer engagement by providing promotions and unique events that are loved by the people. Ashley was the one who established this branding of Highway Malls. In the three years where she tried to climb up the ladder, she proposed different kinds of strategies that would make Highway Malls more attractive and better the brand image. This is just one of her accomplishments. To be honest, she was nominated to become the CEO of Highway Malls, but it was rejected by the Chairman and CEO of the Bluesky Corporation, by the Villers Family. There were rumors that it was the heir to the Villers Family that had rejected the idea, simply because she's still young.
Ashley snorted when she heard the rumors. It was a pity. She would have been the CEO of Highway Malls, but being a senior regional manager is a good start. As long as she can climb that up, it's already enough for her.
Ashley walked towards the mall, with Nilla following behind. Today's special event for Valentine's Day was a fun game for participants with their partners. To join, they must have at least spent a certain amount of products from participating stores.
Ashley had a smile on her face, "Looks like everything is going good. Everything is on schedule."
Nilla nodded as she took note of Ashley's comments.
Ashley squinted, the materials that were written in the document were the same as the one in the event, it was less safe. Ashley sighed and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Write an email to the marketing team here and tell them that they should ensure the safety of their participants," Ashley sighed once again, "Nevermind, let's visit their office."
Ashley strode towards the office while the facilitators were currently operating the event. She opened the door, walking with her head high and full of disappointment.
An employee sneered and rolled her eyes thinking that Ashely was a new hire.
Ashley saw it and gave her a glare, in which the employee just rolled her eyes and looked away.
When the branch manager hurriedly bowed toward Ashley when they saw her, the employee that had sneered at Ashley went pale and could only hope that she wouldn't get fired.
"How pleasant of you to visit us, Regional Senior Marketing Manager Ashley, as you can see the event is such a success, the purchase from participating branches has increased five times!" the branch manager said.
Ashley smiled, "Congratulations! However, please do prioritize safety. As we all know that this is one of the most anticipated events for this year. I hope your branch will keep that in mind."
The branch manager was sweating, "Yes, of course. I apologize on behalf of the marketing team."
Ashley nodded and bid everyone goodbye before heading to the neighboring branch in the other city. Although being a senior manager doesn't require her to visit every branch she handles, she would still like to have a surprise visit to fully evaluate whether the branch is doing well or not.
The other branches she visited were perfectly perfect. After the inspection, Ashley alongside Nilla got inside the car. She felt prouder than ever! Her first few months of being a senior manager have been smooth.
Ashley got inside the car as they drove back to the main office. It was almost time to get off work. Ashley sat on her desk chair. She glanced at her watch. She sighed. Time flew by quickly. She turned her head and looked at Nilla, "You can leave first. Tell Uncle Hersh to leave first too, I'll be doing overtime."
Nilla saluted, "Yes boss! See you tomorrow!"
Ashley cracked her fingers as she began to write her report. It was due next week, but she wanted to finish it as soon as possible. More rest for her. It's not as if she wasn't capable of finishing it in just one day, but she had to read through a pile of documents that kept on increasing each day.
Ashley looked at the stack of documents on her desk, she felt a headache coming. Ashley sighed.
Looking through the glass wall, she could see several employees taking overtime. Ashley got up and knocked on the vacant desk loudly. With her bright smile, she said, "It's already time. Go home and rest. Work can be resumed tomorrow. Good work everybody."
The department managers had no say, after all, the person in charge of them had told the employees under them to go home.
The employees wanted to hug and praise her!
One by one, each employee left, leaving her alone inside the office.
Ashley closed her laptop, ready to leave. Just then her phone rang. When Ashley saw the caller, her eyes widened.
"Hello, this is Ashley Kay, how may I help you?"
"This is the hospital, your best friend was involved in an accident. Can you come?" The doctor said, firmly.
Ashley swallowed. Her mind was hazy. Fear crept inside her. The names Zahra, Jewel, and Rain kept repeating in her mind.
"Which hospital? I'll be there."
After the doctor told her the name of the hospital, Ashley got her keys and drove right away to the hospital, trying to keep herself from speeding the whole drive.
