chapter 14 - Dangerous for my health

Ashley was blushing. Her friends kept on pestering her about Collier. It made her remember the day after sleeping on Collier's bed. She woke up face-to-face with Collier, only a few centimeters and their lips would have touched! Collier even had her arm around her waist. It made Ashley blush.

"It made you remember something! OMG! Do tell!" Jewel squealed.

Ashley sighed. Should she tell her friends the truth? That it was all fake? She was in a contractual relationship with Collier.

Collier had been nice to her, even treated her as if she's really Collier's girlfriend. It made her heartbeats faster. The mere thought of how Collier has always been gentle with her.

'Kitten' she always calls Ashley.

Ashley didn't know what she was thinking. She must be crazy. Is she in love with another Villers?

Her memory with Brooklyn resurfaced her mind. What would happen if Brooklyn knew? What if she objects to me being with her sister? The idea made Ashley's heart ache.

"Ashley?? Hello?" Zahra waved her hand in front of Ashley's face.

"Oh!" Ashley blinked a few times, "What were you saying?"

"Who's that woman that we saw during our group call?" Rain asked while sipping her coffee.

"She's my girlfriend," Ashley confessed.

"What does she do?" Rain continued to interrogate information about Collier.

"Why do I feel like this is an interrogation?" Zahra whispered to Jewel.

"Let's just listen to it," Jewel whispered back.

Ashley pursed her lips, "She's the CEO of Bluesky Corporation, my boss. Kinda?"

Rain's eyes widened. Energy filled her body, "She's a Villers?"

"Fuck, someone's loaded," Zahra was surprised.

Who in the world doesn't know the Villers? There are the richest people here in the Country of Pines.

"Well, I'm glad. At least this means that she has already moved on from Brooklyn," Jewel was happy.

"You mean that bitch-ouch!" Zahra was tearing up, "Why'd you pinch me?"

"Please be a decent human being," Jewel groaned.

"Well, aren't you obsessed with this attitude of-" Zahra stopped. It's as if she had let something slip.

Jewel frowned with her arms crossed, "What were you saying?"

"Nothing," Zahra became quite right away.

Ashley and Rain looked at each other. What's up with them?

"Okay back to the topic, there's something you should know," Ashley inhaled. They're not going to like this.

Ashley mentally prepared herself.

"She's Brooklyn's older sister."

No one spoke.

"She's what?" Jewel shrieked!

"She's Brooklyn's older sister," Ashley repeated.

"She's what?" Zahra asked, still unable to process what happened.

Rain sighed, "Basically, Brooklyn's apparently a Villers too, and now, our dear friend is dating her ex's older sister."

"I-"

"As long as you love her we won't reject her, Ashley," Rain smiled, "I think she isn't like Brooklyn at all. The way she looks at you shows it."

Ashley's heart began drumming against her ear. It made her wonder whether what Rain said was true or not. Part of her was happy, yet another part of her felt fear. She wasn't one hundred percent sure of her feelings yet.
