chapter 22 - Dinner

Collier looked at her in awe and surprise. She had thought that Ashley would laugh it off or take more time to believe in her.

"I'm not sure, but you definitely don't act like her. That's why instead of being angry with you, I fell for you," Collier confessed then pinched Ashley's cheek.

Ashley's face heated up. She never thought she would meet someone who would care for her like Collier did. Maybe all those misfortunes she experienced was karma for what she did to Brooklyn many lifetimes ago.

"It seems like Brooklyn and I weren't really meant to be," Ashley tried to smile despite the heartache she experienced.

"Hey, hey, that person is different from you, alright?" Collier comforted Ashley, creasing her hand.

Ashley sniffed, "I still feel bad for the past Brooklyns. I'm sure she didn't deserve that."

Collier sighed, "Honestly, it made me want to know the reason for leaving my sister."

Just as they were about to cuddle each other, Ms. Villers's voice echoed, "Dinner's ready, darlings!"

Ashley and Collier both jolted and separated from one another.

Ashley intertwined her hand with Collier's, "Come on, babe. And, thanks for being honest with me."

Collier beamed, "Of course. I don't want us to have any misunderstandings after all."

They made their way to the dinner table. There were different dishes prepared for them tonight. Ashley was rather astonished. There were plenty of dishes she had not even tried before.

"Woah! That's a lot."

"Oh, dearie, don't worry! I requested the chef to make tonight's dishes more exclusive!" Ms. Villers squealed, "So tell me, what took you two so long to arrive here." Ms. Villers wriggled her eyebrows.

Mr. Villers sighed, " Honey, leave the kids alone." His wife was really too enthusiastic.

"Alright, alright. But, if things go on as they are, it seems like I'll be a grandmother soon!" She squealed happily again.

Mr. Villers smiled and shook his head as if this was already a common occurrence, "I hope my lovely wife didn't scare you too much, Ashley."

Ashley felt her face hot red like a tomato, "No, it's alright. I don't mind at all."

Collier was surprised. She turned to Ashley and asked, "You want to have a baby with me?" Collier felt her heartbeat faster. She felt happy.

Ashley shyly nodded, "But, not now. It's going to be in the future."

Ashley wanted to spend time with Collier more. Their romance had just started and her plans for now didn't include being a mother. Although another duplicate little Collier junior would be adorable, she really just wanted to cultivate her relationship with Collier more, especially with Brooklyn still in a coma.

Collier couldn't help but curve her lips upwards, "I love you."

Ashley looked at Collier's beautiful eyes, and fell deep in it.

They were both lost in their own moment not noticing how Mr. and Ms. Villers were smiling with approval.

"Come now, let's finish your dishes then you can continue to delve into your own world. You two are making me feel single even though I'm married," Ms. Viller complained.

Ms. Villers placed her fork down all of a sudden and looked sad, "I just hope Brooklyn would wake up."

The whole table became silent.

Ashley felt worried. It made her wonder how Brooklyn would react after the truth reached her ears — that your former ex-girlfriend became your sister-in-law.

Collier breathed heavily. Just remembering her past memories made her terrified. How would she confront this? Worst case scenario, she would choose her little sister over her lover. Collier looked at Ashley with guilt. She mumbled in her heart I'm sorry.

Ashley saw Collier droopy-eyed looking at her, "Hey, it's going to be okay. I'll fight for you."

Collier's heart clenched. I should try to fight for her too. Almighty above, help me find courage to fight for my love. Collier wished.

Mr. Villers raised his glass of wine after sensing the sad atmosphere, "Let's toast to Collier and Ashley's relationship!"

"Cheers!"

Everyone laughed and continued with dinner. It felt like a warm family having dinner, celebrating a wonderful night.

Ashley had decided to sleepover at Collier. It won't hurt to be with Collier one night.

Ashley slipped into Collier's nightwear, making Collier's eyes hot.

"You like what you see?" Ashley smirked.

Collier crossed her arms and pouted, "You're doing this on purpose!"

Ashley chuckled, "You're so adorable! Come here."

Collier scooted closer to Ashley, her heart beating faster every second.

Ashley leaned closer to Collier. Just imagining those soft pink lips of Collier made her hot. Soon, she placed her lips on Collier's. It was soft and the taste was addicting.

Without noticing, Collier's tongue moved on its own and seeked entrance to Ashley's lips.

Unable to control herself, Ashley opened her mouth. She wanted this. When Collier's tongue danced with her's, Ashley felt her legs tremble despite her sitting position. Oh, GOD!

Ashley pulled away from Collier, catching her breath. She caught a glimpse of Collier's hungry eyes , which made her center hot.

"Let's go to sleep!" Ashley's face was hot, covering her face with the quilt.

Collier chuckled. She placed her arms around Ashley's waist and hugged her tightly, making Ashley face her breasts, "Looks like someone's turned on."

"Oh, shut up!"

Collier continued to chuckle before placing a kiss on Ashley's forehead, "Goodnight, baby."
