chapter 20 - Meeting the parents

Ashley received a call from Collier. Apparently, Collier's parents suddenly visited, and wanted to meet their eldest daughter's love. Ashley panicked a bit. She's going to meet THE VILLERS FAMILY. It's a great honour. Not many people know this but the Villers Family dated back in the 1400s when the beautiful independent only daughter of a farmer, Beatrice Villers, suddenly transformed her family into merchants, and eventually became so successful that her husband abandoned his surname to be a Villers.

Although it's not a big deal today, hundreds of years ago, it was shocking news. Soon all her descendants began to expand her wealth, and that's what made the Villers wealthier than any politicians and business people, excluding royalties.

Ashley was ecstatic when she arrived at Collier's mansion.

"I heard that the Villers family dated back to the 1400s!" Ashley exclaimed excitedly.

"Is it alright if I wrap my arms around you?" Collier asked.

Ashley blushed and then nodded.

When Ashley felt Collier's warm arm around her waist, her heartbeat increased tenfold.

"Honestly, I was almost going to be the fiance of a princess."

Ashley stared into Collier's beautiful blue ocean eyes, "Do tell."

Ashley didn't feel any jealousy, just curiosity. She fully understood that the beauty of Collier could even woo royalties.

"Let's see. I think her name is Princess Livia of Duchenmark. I've met her a few times but she seems to be always wary of me," Collier raised her eyebrow, thinking of a possible reason.

"You mean the Princess Livia?" Ashley squealed.

Who wouldn't? Princess Livia of Duchenmark is the most beautiful royal alive. She's known to be nice and polite. Ashley had seen her on the television. Princess Livia was the reason why Ashley had discovered her preference for women.

"What about her?" Collier asked, turning her attention to Ashley.

"She was my first ever crush! She made me realize my preference for women. I can't believe she was almost your fiance! When I was in high school, I bought every magazine with her in it and even had posters of her on the wall."

Ashley couldn't help reminiscing about her childhood, not noticing that Collier's mood had darkened. When she finally noticed, she asked, "What happened to you?"

Collier pouted while crossing her arms as she walked inside her mansion "Then, go and marry her instead."

"Hey wait!" Ashley shouted, following Collier's steps.

Seeing that Collier didn't turn her head, Ashley panicked. She bit her lip; her ears were becoming red.

"But you're the one I want to marry!" Ashley finally shouted.

Collier's eyes widened. She could feel the heat developing her whole body — she was blushing.

Ashley looked at Collier with amusing eyes. She's shy, isn't she? A smile formed from Ashley's lips, "Let's make it official."

Collier stood still as a statue. Was she dreaming? Did Ashley Kay just say that they would be officially dating? Collier can't help but open her mouth and ask again, "Can you say that again?"

Ashley walked towards Collier while wrapping her arms around Collier's neck, "I said, be my official girlfriend already."

Ashley deliberately blew hot breath on Collier's ears before planting her lips on Collier's lips. Ashley kissed Collier hungrily. I've wanted to do this. Their tongues intertwined before Ashley left Collier's delicious lips.

"I'll take that as a yes," Ashley said confidently.

Ashley leaned in again for another kiss while Collier was about to close her eyes, a shout was heard faintly.

"Collier, my baby!!! Where's that girlfriend of yours?"

Having heard a shout, Ashley quickly pushed Collier away.

Poor Collier was confused why her dearest kitten suddenly didn't kiss her. She felt irritated at her mother's sudden disturbance.

"Mom, my girlfriend and I were about to kiss, you shouldn't disturb us!" Collier crossed her arms on her chest.

Ashley burned bright red because of what Collier said. Stupid Collier!

A middle aged woman in a luxury dress walked towards them. She opened her arms to Ashley, "Come here my lil daughter!"

Ashley was hugged tightly by Mrs. Villers. She felt her cheeks burning. She felt shy around her girlfriend's mother.

Collier strode towards them, "Enough hugging, mom. It's my turn."

When Mrs. Villers didn't want to let go of Ashley, Collier grabbed Ashley's wrists. It ended up with Mrs. Villers and Collier pull Ashley to their own side.

"Let go of her, mom!" Collier complained.

When Mr. Villers arrived, he was surprised to see such a scene, "Honey, let go of Collier's girl. Come here to me instead," He opened his arms with a smile.

"That's right! Go to him, mom!"

Mrs. Villers chuckled, "Why are you so stingy?"

Collier pouted and she circled her arm around Ashley's waist. Her mother really liked to tease and bully her.

"Welcome to the family, Ashley. Apologies but unfortunately, Brooklyn, our other daughter won't be able to join us," Mr. Villers said.

Ashley bit her lip. What could she say? It wouldn't be a brilliant move to let her girlfriend's parents know that she dated her girlfriend's sister a few years ago.

Seeing Ashley blue, Collier whispered, "They'll understand. It's okay to let them know."

Ashley clenched her jaws. Collier and her are officially dating now, and she didn't want to have problems with Collier's parents. It's really better to confess earlier and be beaten instead. At least that way her future parents-in-law won't think badly of her.

"Actually, Mr. and Mrs. Villers, it's alright even if Brooklyn isn't here with us. I've met her already before."

Mrs. Villers was happy! She was worried that her baby daughter and her future daughter-in-law might now hit on so well.

"Actually, she's my ex-girlfriend years ago," Ashley swallowed her saliva.
