Ashley couldn't stop her tears from falling. It's been days since Collier had contacted her. She's avoiding me. Ashley remembered Collier told her that they needed to cool off. She never thought that it would take days especially since they were so madly in love before Brooklyn work up.
Ashley bit her lip. She hugged her knees as she fed herself a spoonful of ice cream while watching a movie.
The movie was about an emotional breakup of the female and male lead due to misunderstandings. By the end of the movie, Ashley couldn't stop her tears from falling. The main characters were happily married to someone else. It made Ashley wonder whether this would also be the ending of Collier and her.
______________
Inside the huge mansion, Collier was gulping a huge amount of beer. Fuck. Collier didn't know how to face Ashley. She never returned Ashley's texts and calls. After Brooklyn was discharged from the hospital, Collier planned to give Brooklyn the position of General Manager in one of the companies under her.
Collier's tears began to fall again. It's been days and Collier's still in a bad state that Aunt Wang began to worry for the eldest Miss.
Aunt Wang sighed and decided that if Collier still wouldn't get better, she would inform Mr. and Mrs. Collier.
Collier creased her heart. It'll be okay. Ashley will understand if I don't contact her yet. She closed her eyes. Just don't leave me. Standing up, Collier opened her refrigerator and opened another bottle of wine. This will help me feel at ease.
____________
On the next day, Brooklyn smiled proudly with a bouquet of flowers in her arms. She walked in filled with grace inside the Highway Malls's office. Many employees greeted her, who wouldn't? She's the beloved youngest Miss of the Villers family. It is well-known that even the cold Collier would spoil her younger sister.
"Morning, everyone. Is Ashley in?" Brooklyn flashed her signature to-die-for-smile.
The employee nodded his head like a chicken, too stunned to speak.
"Thank you."
Brooklyn stood upright and knocked on Ashley's office.
"Come in."
Hearing, Ashley's voice, Brooklyn felt happy. She opened the door, "Ashley! Flowers for you." She said with a bright smile.
Ashley felt shitty. Her eyes were puffy due to crying all day yesterday. She looked at Brooklyn with disgust. What is she planning?"
"There's no need for this, Brooklyn," Ashley sighed.
Deep inside she had thought it would've been Collier who would visit her today. Seeing Brooklyn's face, Ashley felt her heart breaking into pieces. Is Collier fine with her sister pursuing me? Why are you such a coward? Ashley felt her eyes watery again.
Taking a deep breath, "Can you please leave, Ms. Villers?" Ashley said coldly.
Brooklyn's smile disappeared, "Don't you like me anymore?"
"You know full well who I love, Brooklyn. And, she's your sister. Now, please get out of my office. I'm very busy." Ashley lowered her head and began reading the reports.
Brooklyn's eyebrows furrowed. Why was her ex-girlfriend stubborn? She placed the flowers on Ashley's desk, "You clearly love me! Why are you dating my sister? Is it because she would inherit our family business and I would most probably only be a low-tier manager?" Brooklyn huffed.
Ashley looked at Brooklyn with disappointment, "Brooklyn, I understand that you have experienced amnesia, but please also try to understand that YOU CHEATED on me. And, I love your sister not because of money, but because she's the person I love. Please Brooklyn, just accept that we're done."
Ashley sighed, "Do know that you're the last person I want to see. It hurts me not seeing Collier, but because she loves you, she's hurting me so please just leave, okay?" Ashley wanted to cry but she couldn't, especially in front of the person who caused Collier to ignore her.
Brooklyn clenched her hands, "I'm not giving up, Ashley," before walking out of Ashley's office.
Ashley's eyes dropped. Why is she always causing my heart to ache? First, it was our break up, now it's this.
Ashley's eyes turned to the bouquet of flowers on her desk. She looked coldly at it and threw it in the trash can.
Ashley took her phone out of her pocket. She looked at her chat log. The disappointment was shown on her face, Collier still hadn't contacted her.
Ash my adorable kitten: Can you just please choose me? Don't you love me anymore, Collier?
After texting Collier, Ashley closed her eyes. Everything will be alright. Don't worry.
Ashley tried to force herself to be fine.
After work ended, Ashley drove toward her house.
Walking towards her unit, Ashley a figure standing outside her condominium, Ashley felt her heart beating loudly. Could it be Collier? As Ashley walked closer and closer to her unit, Ashley frowned, "What are you doing here again?"
Brooklyn felt her smile stiffen.
"Brooklyn, please just leave us alone!" Ashley shouted. She felt herself going crazy. Why did she ever date someone like this?
Ashley opened her door and wanted to close it, but Brooklyn used her foot to prevent Ashley from closing the door.
"Ash, I still love you. I'm sure that you still lo-"
Seeing Ashley's face filled with tears, Brooklyn felt her throat tighten. Brooklyn's voice suddenly disappeared.
"Please. The only person I really want to see right now is Collier. We're over in Brooklyn. Now please get out of my life."
Ashley closed the door with a bang without looking back at Brooklyn.
Brooklyn bit her lower lip. No. She's just confused. I still have a chance. Brooklyn took one last glance at Ashley's door before leaving.
Inside the unit, Ashley leaned back on the door. Tears were still streaming down her cheeks. It's just too tiring.
After a few minutes, Ashley stood up and walked toward her bedroom. She quickly changed into sleeping clothes and jump towards her bed, closing her eyes. I'm just too sleepy.
