"Whoa hey.. Shoe"

"Uh  excuse me?"

"I said watch my shoe.. dumb b...

"Aye guess what?.. Actually before i say anything finish what you were about to say"

"Y/n.." Leigh pulled me back by the end of my shirt

"You better put your dog on a leash before it gets put down"

"Or ma..

"Y/N.." Leigh yelled pulling me back again by my shirt then grabbed my wrist "We're leaving" She said in my ear and pulled me away "I know you feel like it's your job to..

"No Leigh it IS my job to protect you" I interrupted her before she could finish

"No it isn't Lee"

"Yeah it is LEIGH"

"Nope"

"Yep"

"Agree to disagree" She stuck out her hand and I gratefully shook it "Have even had a job before?"

"I sure have" I looked up with confidence "It's this one right here.. It doesn't pay much but at least it doesn't feel like a job and I get to be friends with a wonder human being"

"I wouldn't say I'm wonderful.." Leigh blushed a little and looked down at the ground while we walked

"Your right.." I laughed and turned to look away "Your more than wonderful.. I don't know the word for it yet but I'll figure it out someday and let you know.. You hear me?" I moved some hair out her face and put it behind her ear "I'm serious.. I will, I promise"

"I'm looking forward to it Lee" She smiled then wrapped her arm around mine "While you search for that word, Do you think my mom will let you stay the night again?"

"I don't see why not.. We didn't stay up all night watching tv when she told us to sleep" I shrugged, Making her giggle and nod "Did you finish Mr. Simons homework yet?"

"Nope.. Been to busy watching you silly" She nudged me a little, Almost knocking me over

"That's funny, I didn't finish either because I was to busy watching you"

"We're just some watching watchers" Leigh shrugged

"We should get home and finish it though right?"

"Definitely" She nodded to me "I'll race you back to my house" She giggled and ran off down the street

"Hey your cheating.. You didn't give a countdown" I yelled to her

"Ugh fine.. Hurry up" She stopped with a sigh and waited for me to catch up

"Why don't we run together.." I held out my hand to her and she quickly grabbed it while putting her forehead against mine "Partners?"

"Always.. Partners" She laughed and pulled back "Are you sure you just didn't wanna lose?"

"Maybe I just wanted to hold your hand" I joked while nudging her

"All you had to do was ask if that's all you wanted to do" She giggled as we started picking up the pace with our hands grasped together

Once we got to her house pretty fast she stopped before going in

"Do you think I'll ever get a boyfriend?" She played with her wristband nervously

"Hey.." I grabbed her hand, Stopping her from fidgeting "I thought I was good enough"
