"Man that was great"

"Right? That was the most competitive college game I've ever watched. They just kept going back and forth, it literally came down to the last second"

"Maybe you should come to her games more often" Jade raised her eyebrows, mumbling as she stared straight ahead

"Oh hush Jade. I've been coming to Vals games for years, I haven't been to every game obviously because I have other obligations I have to keep up with.. LIKE WORK. Val understands, I've been keeping up with my promise"

"What about Leigh?" Jade asked

"What about Leigh?" I asked right back "My wife works harder than I do, all day everyday. Valentina understands that to, and not to mention she didn't make the same promise to Val, I made the promise because I thought things would stay the same, but things have changed a lot. But if you're worried so much about Leigh let me call her, I bet she still watched the game even though she couldn't come" I rolled my eyes, reaching into my pocket and taking out my phone, calling Leigh

Jade had set me off, I get she was trying to make a point, it just wasn't the right one

"Hello?"

"Hello my darling wife. How are you?" I grinned, just seeing her makes me feel warm and happy inside

"I'm good, GREAT" She laughed a little, moving around so she could hold the phone where I was able to see her clearly

"I'm sorry. Were you sleeping?" I asked, I could hear it in her voice and well, that is the reason she stayed home

Leigh has been working her ass off, even with me taking some of the load she still piles more onto herself, it's a reason why we're so ahead of things and why she, we get the luxury of taking a few days off, and a reason why we're closer than ever

"It's okay, I woke up awhile ago. I missed the first half of Vals game but caught the second half, it got pretty intense" Leigh started laughing then let out a big yawn

"I'll let you go back to sleep love, I just wanted to check if you were okay. Did you pack your stuff?"

"Packed and ready to go" She grinned giving me a thumbs up

"Great, I'll be home in a few, I still have to pack my things so I'll be quiet while you sleep, gotta go. I love you"

"I'll have dinner done before you get here.. Love you to, bye" Leigh waved then immediately hung up

I took a deep breath and looked over at Jade "She knew I was gonna tell her no"

"I figured" Jade began laughing with me "Guess I'm not taking you anywhere to eat now, thank god. Val eats enough already"

"That's what you get for making the deal that you'll buy her food if she scores over twenty plus points" I laughed at Jade while pointing and teasing her "My deal is that I have to show up, yours is worse"

"I'm not worried" Jade shrugged "She'll pay me back once she gets drafted to the pros"

"Ain't that the truth" I waved my hands around for a second because Valentina also made me a promise like that, not that I asked for it, she just texted me it one day
