(Chapter 20) The High Duty

After one month...
Now a month has passed since Takeo came the Headquarter.
After the truth was revealed Takeo was freed by Kagaya he was treated to recover in his Estate.
Kagaya made sure that the news that Takeo is innocent was spread all around the Demon Slayer Corp.
Many choose to believe their leader but there still people who think Takeo was a lier.
Thus Takeo got the nickname "The Vicious Slayer".
Now Takeo must be careful because things are not anymore like before.
The bad taste all others have about him is not something that can go off easily.
One more snag came in front of the young boy now.
Takeo was recovered from his wounds and now was ready to continue his journey even though it will be harder now.
He wore his Haori and took his blade and was ready to leave on afternoon.
But firstly he knew that he should go to thank all the persons who took care of him and especially Kagaya.

Takeo went to visit Kagaya and he found out that he was in graveyards.
"Hachiro, Noriko, Okino, Masumi..."

Kagaya was reading all of the fallen Demon Slayer names and was memorizing them.
Takeo saw him and didn't want to interrupt him se he waited until Kagaya noticed him.
Kagaya was surprised to see Takeo.
"Takeo? I'm sorry that I let wait there!"

Takeo immediately bowed in front of him.
"There is no need to apologize Oyakata-sama!"

Kagaya approached him.
"So what did bring you here?"

Takeo spoke."I came here to thank you for all what you done for me.
It really means a lot for me.
And I also want to apologize for all this bother that I caused you!"

Kagaya smiled at him and offered his hand so he would get up.
"Takeo.For now there is no need to bow.
I want you to treat me as a friend."

There is no need to thank me for anything!
I just have done what I should."

Takeo got up and looked at him.
"I owe you more than you think!"

Kagaya looked at the graves.
"No Takeo.I did only my job as a part of this Corp.
Out there are all my children who are sacrificing their lives for the good of this world.
There is no greater sacrifice than putting your life on the line for the sake of the good.
You were out there!
You know what it means to be a Demon Slayer Takeo.
I may be the leader but all of you are above me.
I am the one that should thank you.
Helping you recover is a small thing compared to what you would do in the battlefield."

Takeo responded Kagaya speech.
"No Oyakata-sama!
You are the heart and mind of this Crop.
Without you we could not last longer.
You are the one who lead all of us to seek for peace."

Kagaya seemed a little upset.
" I am not sure if I am fulfilling all the responsibilities as a leader!
My post is being put on question.
To tell the truth I may be acting like I have everything on control.
It has been eight years since I first led The Demon Slayer Corp and yet I have much more to learn.
Nowadays The Corp is suffering one of the weakest times on its history.
With only three Hashira and the number of children rapidly decreasing I don't know what should I do."

Kagaya knew that he may have spoke a bit too much and looked at the concerned face of Takeo.
"You may think why I am being open towards you at all of sudden.
But this is weird skill of mine.
I can tell people's personality just by looking at them.
And you Takeo are a good person- "

Without letting him speak more Takeo hugged Kagaya and he was surprised.

Takeo looked at him.
"Thanks for being open with me!
This mean a lot to me."

Kagaya was still surprised and Takeo continued to speak.
"I am glad that you think of me as a friend.
And as such you can rely on me for anything you want."

Kagaya was glad to hear that from Takeo.
"Thank you too!"

Takeo looked at him with a big smile.
" You are not a bad leader!
You managed to lead this Corp from such a young age and here you are!
We may be weak now but we will grow!We will never lose the hope!
No matter how upset,disappointed,tired or scared you are Set Your Heart Ablaze!
That is what my best friends has teached me."

Kagaya was glad to hear that.
"I will!!!"

Takeo was happy that he made Kagaya smile.

"You can count on me whenever you need help.
Till then I gonna give my best as a Demon Slayer!"

Takeo's smile gave Kagaya hope and he was glad that he talked to him.
"I'm glad that we have people like you in our side!"

Suddenly Takeo's crow showed up.
" *caw* Brat!
Head South!
There is a big village where strange things are happening for and an large numbers of people gone missing!
*CAW*"

Takeo looked at Kagaya who nodded in approvation.
"You must go now Takeo.
Go do your best amd make sure to return safely."

Takeo nodes.
"Farewell then!"

He followed the crows direction and arrived in midnight in the village.
The village was bigger than Takeo expected and was full of life.

"So... strange things are happening here.
It is midnight and I should not let my guard down.
Firstly I must investigate this place."

Takeo started walking around the village looking for anything suspicious but nothing came out.
When he wants to take a little break suddenly something moves really fast on the roof of the houses.
"It may be a demon!"

Given to his special eyes Takeo could chase it.
Suddenly he jumped on the road and Takeo did too.
He stopped and he was really fast and Takeo couldn't see him while jumping.
He was sheathing his sword and in front of him was the headless body of a demon.

He turned his face at Takeo and looked at him with his sharp purple eyes.

" Welcome Vicious Slayer!"

Takeo has started his new mission now.
Will this mission be hard to fulfill for him?
With The Leader of The Corp counting on him will he live up the expectations?
A new character has arrived will he be a friends or another foe of Takeo?

*While he was being recovered at the Ubuyashiki Estate Takeo was quite shocked to know that Kagaya is a father.
*Kyojuro and Iguro visited him often had fun together.
*Kagaya was very surprised with Takeo Breath Style and he has stated that he is the first Dragon Breath user in the Demon Slayer Corp.
