(Chapter 25) The Fierce Thunder

It was a bright day and Arashi was training in the yard of his house.
He was swinging his sword and improving his techniques with all his focus.

Arashi looked at the person who spoke and it was the Water Hashira.
Arashi was surprised and immediately bowed in front of him.
"Soragoi-sama!"

The Hashira approached him and gave him a hand to stand up
"Stand up!
You know that I hate formalities!
We are friends aren't we?!"

The Hashira smiled and Arashi looked at him.
"What good did bring you here Tadao?"

The Hashira noticed that Arashi was sweating.
"I'm sorry for disturbing your training!
You need to relax yourself first I came here just to talk with you."

Arashi noded and went to wash himself and later he found The Hashira sat on a rock while enjoying watching the sky.

"This is pretty!
The view here is amazing!"

Arashi approved while watching it himself and the Hashira spoke again.
"That is what we're fighting for,Arashi.
To secure the humanity to enjoy the beauty of the day again.
To feel relaxed knowing nothing bad will happen while enjoying the lightness of the day."

He looked at Arashi.
"That is our duty!
To secure that!
We fight giving our all at the night to protect moments such as this."

Arashi looked down feeling sorry.
"But we need to prepare ourselves knowing that may feel these moments for the last time."

"Yeah.
That is true.
But we will not surrender or welcome death until our last breaths.
That is what we vowed to Oyakata-sama.
That is what we vowed for the humanity!"

The Hashira enguraged Arashi.
"Afterall you are one of the best here Arashi.
You are the one who reached the highest status in the Corp within six months."

Arashi was still doubtful on himself.
"That is something everyone can do if they try hard enough.
I am just a normal human who doesn't know what awaits for the tomorrow!"

The Hashira was surprised by his words.
"I am surprised that the son of one of the greatest Hashira I ever known is struggling to know his meaning in this world.
Listen here boy.
Everyone in this world is unique in his own ways.
Everyone is gifted with a talent!"

The Hashira took Arashi's sword and gave it to him.
"You are a talented swordsman Arashi.
If god gave you this talent then you should hone it on its utmost limits."

He gave Arashi a little punch in the shoulder.
"You need to stop overthinking things.
Protect everyone and lend us your strength!

Flashback End...

Arashi was countering the invisible attacks while searching for the moment to pierce through them and attack the demon.
Jirokichi was watching him.
"I think I overestimated you!
You are just messing around with my invisible army.
Give some attention to me too!"

Arashi smirked.
"You may be strong but I guess that mouth of yours is beyond even your powers!"

He found a straight path to the demon.
"Breath of Thunder!
First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!"

Arashi dashed at the demon who already knew how to counter his attack.
"Are you stupid or did you just surrender to your fate?
You can't touch me with this attack!"

"The Mighty Storm!"

Arashi spined his sword vertically in a whirlpool motion while dashing toward the demon in a blitz making the ground shake.

Arashi was right in front of the demon and he wasted no time and he attacked the demon on his neck.
(I touched him! Now is my chance!)

Jirokichi was quite shocked.
(This guy!
He was holding back his power too!
And he enhanced his technique!)

Jirokichi felt disturbed by this attack and immediately teleported himself.

Arashi looked where he went.
"Not too fast!
Breath of Thunder!
Forth Form: Distant Thunder!"

Arashi released strong waves of multi-directional slashes in order to protect himself from the invisible army and to attack the demon in same time.

He managed to cut the whole arm of the demon and Jirokichi get his blood running down his neck from the first attack and this made him angry.
"Blood Demon Art: The Vengeful Rise!"

This cough Arashi not prepared because he thinks that the demon cant use two kind of techniques at the same time.
Suddenly he felt something huge coming from. the ground and before he knew it he was thrown hard in the air and it caused a great amount of damage on him.

He collided to the ground and was breathless for a second but the demon didn't wait for his next attack and the invisible army attacked him but he managed to block it with his sword pushing him far away.
"That is a Upper rank demon for you!"

Jirokichi approached him.
"This technique is powerful for the defense but it is brutal on offense!"

Arashi could feel the incoming attack from above this time huger than before and with too little space to escape from it.
Jirokichi smiled while watching.
"To think that such a swordsman will be crushed like an insect!
Tragi-!"

"Breath of the Dragon!
First Form: Dragon's Roar!"

Takeo appeared right behind the demon and attacked him on the neck this time managing to cut deeper than Arashi.
(It's tough!
His neck is solider than a rock!)

Jirokichi was shocked and his cells could feel the danger.
(Another Hashira!
I knew that someone was coming close but how did he cut through my army when I just powered them!)

The attack that was coming at Arashi disappeared and he was surprised to see Takeo.
"Takeo?"

Jirokichi teleported himself and attacked Takeo who dodged it and backed up and went near Arashi.
"He teleported himself?"

Takeo looked at Arashi.
"Are you okay?"

Arashi was mad at Takeo.
"You idiot!
I told you to leave this place as soon as you killed that demon!"

Takeo smiled.
"Yeah you told me that!
But what kind of friend would I be if I let you here alone?"

Arashi didn't know what to say and looked at the demon.
"Could you handle a Upper Moon?"

Takeo looked at Jirokichi.
"I don't think so!
But with your accompany I think we can!"

Arashi was surprised at Takeo and went right next to him.
"I apologize to you!"

Takeo looked at him.
"For what?"

Arashi shaked his head and smiled.
"No it's nothing!"

The two boys got in stance.

Now Takeo has entered the battlefield.
Jirokichi now seem to take serious this situations after the understimatings he made.
What will be the outcome of this battle?

I haven't said this before because I wanted to wait for this moment but Arashi is the first Demon Slayer who have refused to be a Hashira because of his lack of confidence in himself and the fear that he will not accomplish his duty well.
After his conversation with the Water Hashira he promised him that he will take that position but he needed some time to think about it.
