Ep. 2: CITY OF BAGUIO

August. 3, 2021

Around 4AM in the morning, we already woke up to prepare our things.

Yes! This is the day that mommy and ate will be driving me to Baguio. They will stay there for 1 week. And i will be the one who will left alone there when they leave. You know, college life..

My mom went to me and put her arm around my shoulder. "Are you excited, anak?"

"Yes, mommy. Pero medyo nalulungkot din po ako to be honest." I said as i looked down the floor.

"Why? What's wrong?"

I looked at her. "Syempre mommy, hindi na tayo lagi magkakasama and every week nalang tayo magkikita eh alam nyo naman pong hindi ako sanay ng walang kayakap diba?"

She hugged me. "Hay, nako anak. Sa una lang yan. Normal lang talaga na mag worry ka sa lahat. Of course, first time mo. And don't worry kasi alam naman namin na kaya mo yan!"

"T-thank you, Mommy! :<"

5:00AM

Sawakas, we were about to go to Baguio na! I'm very excited but feel nervous at the same time kasi 3 hours yung byahe namin and they all know na mahina talaga ko pagdating sa ganyan. Some more fact about me, I'm a very sensitive person. Like, hindi ako kumakain ng spicy foods, mahiluhin ako sa byahe, matatakutin ako sa dilim, also, iyakin din ako yung tipong kahit nag joke ka lang about my appearance is dadamdamin ko talaga yun and hindi ako sanay matulog ng walang katabi so goodluck sakin once na nakarating na kami sa Baguio.

9:30AM

WE'RE FINALLY IN BAGUIO CITY!!

I didn't expect na ganito pala kaganda sa Baguio. Korean vibes tbh. There's a lot of different kinds of trees. Cold weather. And even yung public transportations nila is very neat and clean. Wala kang makikitang basura kahit saan ka lumingon. Also, the people are very nice. Since first time namin sa Baguio, of course nagtanong tanong kami sa random residents doon kung nasaan yung specific place na hinahanap namin.

While we're finding our place, muntik na kaming maaksidente.

Nasa intersection road kami. Naka green light ang traffic lights samin at naka red light naman ang nasa opposite lane. There was a van na humarurot sa harap namin na halos mabangga na kami sa ibang sasakyan. Both of our cars ay napahinto sa pangyayari. They made my mom triggered since sya yung nagdadrive. She get down the car and argue with the driver.

My mom said while pointing at the van. "Hoy! Bulag ka'ba? Hindi mo ba nakikitang naka stop light yung sainyo? Alam mo bang muntik na kaming maaksidente dahil sa ginawa mo!"

The driver of the van went down and calmly apologize to my mom. "I'm sorry po madam, nakita ko naman po na naka red light yun eh. Yung amo ko po kasi inutusan lang talaga ko na dumeretso kasi malalate na daw po sya."

I heard their conversation and also get down the car to follow my mom.

"Excuse me, manong driver? Mas pipiliin nyo pa po bang makulong kesa mawalan ng trabaho?" Sinagot ko habang nakahawak ang aking dalawang kamay sa bewang ko.

Hindi nakasagot si manong driver kaya sinabi naming palabasin ng sasakayan ang kanyang amo at harapin kami.

Sumagot ang amo nya saakin nang bumaba ito ng sasakyan. "Ano bang meron iha? Bat galit na galit ka ata sa driver ko?"

Nagulat ako kung sino ang kanyang amo.

"M-mr. Bongbong? Ay, pasensya na po kung napagsabihan namin yung driver nyo. Muntik na po kasi kaming maaksidente eh bakit nyo po kasi sya inutusan na dumeretso kahit na naka red yung traffic lights?" I said to Mr. Bongbong as i bowed my head to him.
