Breaking point

Chapter 4 - Bearable

Akilina woke up much like she did last time. Head sore, arms throbbing, drowsy except this time Akilina was in pain. She couldn't pin point where it was but she knew it didn't feel good.

She sat up slowly. Once again in new clothes these where still black but they had a little red symbol on the corners. A little symbol that would be burned into her brain.

Akilina's bandages were fresh. Shoes once again thrown across the room.

Akilina did notice that there was a tray of the food like she ate yesterday on the floor. Akilina got up, started walking, but almost instantly fell in her knees. The pain in her knees brought tears to her eyes that trailed down her face but dispite the pain, she got up. Walking more carefully this time Akilina sat down beside the food and started eating.

Slower than the last time because she remembered the stomach ache she got. Akilina finished the meal and put her shoes on. Only now noticing the camera in the top corner. She climbed back on the bed. Lying down facing away from the camera hugging her knees.

She fell back asleep.

The door banged open. Akilina got off the bed quickly in fear of being pulled of it and onto the floor. In came 2 people with guns and weird things on their face and a man.

He was wearing different black armour clothes that the other two. Making him look more important than them. He also didn't have anything on his face. He looked intimating. And in fact she was intimated.

"Come child"

She started walking.

The man said "Ты позвонишь мне Semenov" (you will call me Semenov)

Akilina nodded a yes in understanding .

He walked ahead leading the way. The image was quite comical. 2 heavily armed guards walking behind a small child who was walking behind an also armed scary man.

They got to the elevator and went down.

I wonder if we're going back to James.

They walked out and to a room. A small one compare to some of the others she'd seen while walking around. Semenov opened the door. Inside it looked like a classroom or well how her brother had discribed a classroom to her.

Her brother.

She missed him.

Aleks.

She snapped out of her head after she was pushed. Catching herself she noticed a man.

teacher?

"thank you Semenov"

Semenov nodded and walked out the gaurd following him.

"sit child. You'll do as your told here no exceptions or excuses. Speak when spoken too.you refer to me as sir" she sat in the child he was pointing to.

After 4 hours Akilina decided she hated school. Aleks didn't tell her about this part. If she didn't know it or got a question wrong. He'd use some stick to hit her hands and if she made noise he'd do it u till she stopped. Her hands a raw red hurting to touch anything and dry tears on her red face when Semenov came back.

He brought her back to the cell she woke up in. There was another tray in there.

A dry piece of bread. 2 Apple slices witch she enjoyed and water.

Her hands were stinging.

A short while later Semenov came back. He brought her to a new place a door much like her cell. Semenov opened the door motioning for her to walk, she went in and he shut the door.

This room was bigger. But that's not all that was different James looking slightly confused and relieved was there.

"James?"

"hey kid"

"hello" bucky chuckled slightly "more talkative now are you"

"yes"

He chuckled again. He looked at the small girl noticing her face was puffy and slightly red. He saw the bruises on her face. Gaining another one since he saw her last. Then he was her hands. Slightly shaking.

Red.

Bleeding.

She hadn't noticed they were bleeding.

"you okay kid"

"Нет" (no)

"can I pick you up"

"Да"

He picked her up and much like the first time they meet he put he in front the bed he was sitting on and knelt in front of her instead of sitting on a chair. He gently grabbed her forearm and she pulled it back in pain.

He looked at her "sorry can you turn you arm" she did. "shit" was going through his head but he had to react quickly he could hear the guards coming back.

He picked her up and placed her softly on the ground. He swiftly took off her bandages luckily where was enough so now its not covering just her forearms but her hands too. He stood up. Akilina only registering how tall this guy is now .

The door opened. Semenov walked in "soldier" he nodded at bucky.

Bucky nodded back.

Mutual respect despite the obvious differences between them.

"come child"

Akilina walked out waving at bucky. He gave a small wave back.

Semenov brought her to doctor Fedorov. In a different room than Doctor Fedorov would bring her last times. The doctor would give her painful ingections. None of witch she pasted out for this time. She almost did.
A few times.l But the doctor had noticed. She was crying less. Still crying

if u can't make noise in school I wouldn't be aloud to here either.

And she was right make noise meant more pain. Doesn't mean she could hold in her crys. After a few hours with the doctor, Semenov came back.

Instead of going to her cell he brought her to a room that was like the room were she had met madame B and the other man.

Except the desk was metal. And had a gun on it. The gun was small. It fit her hands. That were still stinging though slightly less. The gun was also taken apart.

Fedorov didn't leave he stayed and told her to sit witch she did. The screen light up. Though not bright enough to hurt her eyes.

The video showed someone taking apart a gun. A bigger version of what was in front of her. And putting it back together. She watched the video 6 times before trying it her self.

She took it slow.

Wanting to get it right of course she didn't. Akilina noticed she didn't get punished for getting it wrong Semenov simply watched her do it.

Akilina just kept watching the video fixing were she had gone wrong. Eventually she had made the gun whole again.

Semenov brought her back to her cell.

In her cell was another tray of food. This one had dry meat, it was rough but it was cut up Into smaller pieces, carrots, some potatoe and cabbage and a cup of water there wasn't a whole lot but she needed food not complaining about what food.

This cycle continued for about 6 months except the time she got to spend with James increased from a few sparse minutes to 45 minutes. As long as both behaved. And they did. Barnes completed his missions and Akilina continued her training without struggle.

After a while they each had nicknames. Purely made out of boredom. Akilina heard someone call bucky the winter soldier. So she dubbed him "Лето"(summer) after he failed to give a good explanation on why someone would call him that. And bucky had falling victim to Akilina's sass. He called her kitten or Котёнок  because she's small adorable and ' has claws '. He sometimes called her doll too. It just slipped out one day and stuck.

It wasn't good but it was somewhat more bearable.
