"Doctor." Vanadey whispered once the others were further ahead. They were meant to be heading back to Guido's home.

"Hm?" The man hummed, looking to his left slightly. He saw the distanced look in Vanadey's eyes and he decided to stop her from walking and turned her to look at him. "Ada? What is it?"

"When...when the Signora bit into me...i saw something." Vanadey began as she scrunched her face slightly, trying to remember what she had seen in her hazy state.

"What did you see?" The Doctor asked, looking in both eyes for any sort of pain from a memory or just something...off-putting in a way.

"A place. A lovely, lovely looking place." Vanadey spoke in a whisper, almost as if she feared, had she spoken any louder, the words would seem fake, especially because she knew this would probably be a sensitive topic to the Doctor. "I  was...running around. I was a five-year-old. The ground was orange...and...dusty, in a way. The sky was red, orange and yellow and it seemed to light the fire inside of me." The Doctor watched intently, the place she described was very familiar, but he couldn't place the name. "There were buildings...towers, kind of. Inside a sort of...dome."

"Anything else?" The Doctor gently asked, knowing that he had to use a soft tone when speaking to Vanadey. She was a sensitive girl, he knew that, and considering she almost got sucked dry...he was going to be soft.

"The buildings almost looked golden, in a way." Realisation struck Vanadey. "I wasn't of Gallifrey decent, Doctor." Vanadey said and the Doctor looked at her as if she had two heads. "I came from Gallifrey. I was born on Gallifrey." Vanadey looked at the man and smiled, a joy-filled expression plastered on her face. "I was from Gallifrey!" She exclaimed, wrapping her arms around the Doctor, who wrapped his arms around her.

"You have no idea how good it is to hear that." The Doctor breathed out, burying his head into the crook of Vanadey's neck. "I think it's time we have a proper one-to-one with Signora Calvierri, don't you?"

~

The Doctor sat on the throne-like chair, tapping his fingers softly on the end of the armrest. Vanadey sat in his lap, almost curled up. The Doctor didn't mind, as long as she was with him and was okay. That's all that mattered to him. It was strange, to be fair. The fact that they had gotten so close in such a short time...but that's what happens when you're soulmates with someone and both people have two hearts, i guess? The more love to share.

As the Signora walked into the room, the Doctor whistled, gaining the alien woman's attention.

"Long way from Saturnyne, aren't you...Sister of the Water?" The Doctor asked, finally figuring out what she was.

"No, let me guess." The Signora said, momentarily ignoring Vanadey - which the girl didn't mind. "The owner of the psychic paper." The Doctor opened his arms slightly, showing that he was, indeed the owner. "Then i take it you're a refugee, like me?"

"I'll make you a deal." The Doctor sat as he wrapped an arm around Vanadey, hugging her closer to him. "An answer for an answer. You're using a perception filter. It doesn't change your features, but manipulates the brainwaves of the person looking at you. But seeing one of you for the first time in, say, a mirror, the brain doesn't know what to fill the gap with, so it leaves it blank." As the Doctor spoke, theorising or quite literally stating on why the perception filter worked and how you couldn't see them in the mirror, the Signora paced. Vanadey grew quite annoyed at her pacing and was close to telling her to stop. "Hence no reflection."

"Your question?" The Signora asked with a small smile, an almost fake one.

"Why can we see your big teeth?"
